I am not even kidding. Today I bought 2 pairs of the Brooks Green Silence (31 dollars/pair) and get this, a pair of Matumbos for 17 bucks. I could not believe it. I was literally shocked. The Brooks Green Silence even came in the boxes. They also had the K-Swiss Tubes for 22 dollars but they didn't have them in my size.
I've found lots of shoes at places like that, it's hit or miss so it's nothing I count on, but when I go in there I always check the shoe racks.
It's funny you started this thread before I was about to post the EXACT same. I only stumbled on the running shoe deals at Ross after a friend of mine went in searching for a cologne. I was shocked at not only the selection, but the prices: Nike Zoom Streak, Brooks Silence, Saucony Ride, Puma Faas 250, and several distance spikes.
Go check em out; you may get lucky.
I bought a pair of Green Silence from them about a month ago. They caused my feet to itch uncontrollably so I called BROOKS and they asked me if I bought them Ross/Marshalls. I told them yes and they told me to return them to the store immediately. I have no clue why.
I got a pair of one of the New Balance Minimuses, I can never keep their models straight with that numbering system they use, for $40. It's true that Marshalls often has great deals on running shoes. But it's a hit or miss thing. You can't count on getting something you like there every time you go. But it's always worth dropping by to see what's there.
I work down the block from a Marshall's so I check it regularly during lunch breaks because I'm there but I don't find great deals often enough that it'd be worth making a special trip. Many of the best deals are on shoes in odd sizes. I might have better luck if I were a size 8 or 13 rather than my commonplace 10.
A bevy of Zoom Streaks at my local Ross, but I'm fat and slow.
