Does anyone know of a resource to estimate marathon time improvement for a mediocre marathoner (PR: 3:30) if weekly mileage is upped from 60 miles to 75 miles?
And if not, how much time improvement would you predict and why?

how long have you been maintaining this 60 mpw?
No such thing exists. Me personally, going from maybe 55-60 MPW to 70 MPW led to an 8 minute PR, but I can't give the increased mileage all the credit.
How many marathons have you run?
This may help. If you take a recent 10k time, and multiply by 4.9, is it close to what you have run recently for a marathon? See what the difference is if you multiply by 4.7-4.8 instead. Obviously there are other factors involved, but this may at least give you a rough idea. Of course, if you just ran your second marathon and are looking to run your third I would expect that you would likely improve just by keeping up your current mileage base, especially if you that base is only for the last year or so.

How do you figure that is going to be right?
Wow, thank you for the advice and links. That was very interesting!
For the record, I have run 8 marathons over 5 years ranging from 3:55 to 3:25 (-ish).
I cut off the last 13 minutes by increasing mileage (after hovering for a while). However, there were other factors as well (better nutrition and iron levels!)
Thanks again!
@browski: Sorry forgot to answer your question.
I only maintained the 60mpw for about two weeks (as a peak), and 55 mpw for only about one month in my last training bout. I hope to hold onto the higher mileage for longer this time around. I am assuming you think that would be important, right?
Thanks again!
