Braun ran an honest race in a stacked field. Big ups for Brauny.
I remember when there was a lot of moaning about the state of US mid and distance running.
How quickly we've been spoiled.
It's all Nike's fault. ;-)

True, but he led by as much as 15m on his own.. You talk about Pre and what he would do, well Braun went out there and on his own went for it. Respect for not sitting behind the Oregon project guys..
I didn't compare him to Pre...but I do agree with you and give Braun respect for taking it the way he did.
Pretty pathetic race for everyone else though.
and this...
16 Webb, Alan Nike 13:46.53
Man, that is sad. Not even putting Webb down (I respect that he is still going for it) but that result made me legitimately sad.
Ssl stated his number one goal of the group was "Centrowitz" get the "A" standard....didn't happen
when did Rupp drop out?

Those 'disappointing' 1500s yielded 37 sub-4 mile equivalent times (under 3:42). The might be the most I have ever seen.
The number of 1500 runners was impressive for sure. I didn't see the race. Did they run as a centipede?

I think 2 or 3 laps to go
Moser 15:20, awesome time. Good for her.
why?
i guess Al Sal did not want his 1-2 to face off tonight
would have been an impressive double
Moser ran very well--a PR by some 25 seconds. Ritz looked terrific. However, coming down from altitude with a heavy workload (they ran 18 earlier in the week), it's not fair to expect anything other than heavy legs. On another front, another thing that's not fair is Maggie Vessey. She looked so good it bordered on indecency.

Sal must have worked them really hard. I didn't think Mo was running. The only one who ran well was Levins. He just cut his mileage so he must have felt great. 5000 girls ran poorly as well . Tara has run 15:30?. Cain ran well but not with everyone in Park City.
Whoops I mean 15:11 for Moser of course.
And 13:31 for Puskedra.

seems like solomon really messed up the pacing with a 1:57
Scherer brought them through too slowly, not Solomon. Even if Solomon did run 56 800-1200 to get them to 2:53, I doubt anyone would have followed him.

What's your point about Maggie Vessey?
That she was a pacemaker and didn't get to race?
Rose Monday is a good friend of hers and former coach, so maybe Maggie wasn't ready to open up yet?

Vessey tested positive recently.

She was given a warning. No ban.
Anyway, my question wasn't to you, you dipsht.
She tested positive and was given a warning.
You do know athletes take certain medications so if they test positive it will test positive for something they can make an excuse for, right?
Did they really run the 1500m heats in that order (Heat 1, Heat 2, Heat 3)?
All credit to Nick Symmonds, he deserved the prize, but if you the best performances in a time trial format, surely the fastest runners must (on paper) must come last? That's how it has been for every meet I've ever been to.
I can only assume they wanted to give Rupp more time to recover for the 5000m, but it was a poor decision.
I know Webb didn't do a great time but can anyone tell me if he looked relaxed?

no, no way. he looked tired and off from the gun. this is not his distance.
Only saw one mention of Jager on here. After his 5,000 and 1,500 debuts, he's primed to open up with one heck of a steeple. I hope he gets in a good race with a steady pace.
Jager at 3:36 this early suggests he will challenge 13 and 8:04.
Derrick at 3:38 or 3:39? I couldn't find his 1500m pr prior to this race, but he is making terrific progress. He may not be fast enough yet at lower distances to challenge 13 but he's getting there.
