Hey ladies,gentleman! So i'm really borderline of being able to go sub 18 i'm thinkin.. Been buildin up the base for most of the winter and currently around 40-55mpw.
I'm really not good at pacing myself. What would be some good splits to go 17:59? I know it's a 5:47 pace and I usually go out way to fast.. Last time I went out in 5:38 and ended up burning out a little after mile 1, and only being able to hold a low 6 mile pace the rest of the way. My last race I pulled off a high 18 going out in 5:55ish, but was leading a guy who went high 17's, that blew by me soon after mile 1.. So I think my pacing more a less sucks.
Any good advice or pointers would be greatly appreciated , thanks.
