28 y/o male
Previous Marathons:
Marathon 1: 3:08:xx (Fall 2009)
Marathon 2: 3:00:xx (Spring 2010)
Marathon 3: 2:53:xx (Fall 2012) (HM 1:21:50)
Previous Marathon Specific Training:
Marathon 1: 11 weeks; Avg 38mpw; peak 50 (2x)
Marathon 2: 14 weeks; Avg 48mpw; peak 62 (5x)
Marathon 3: 12 weeks; Avg 61.6mpw; peak 70 (3x)
Usually do some speed work and slack on tempos but do a good amount of tune up races.
I consistently suck at running consistently throughout the year. For example 2010 mileage = 1537; 2011 mileage = 1296; 2012 mileage = 2013. Havent really ever been injured except for some ITB way back when. So I know that I need to work on running more miles more often outside of marathon training. Probably could only be 3-4 pounds lighter than Marathon 3; was already down to like 9% BF and felt shitty running when my weight was lower than I raced at.
Assuming more consistent year round training, what do you think i could get my marathon time down to in the next 2-3 years without going over like 75-80mpw avg and 88 peak? 2:40-2:45?
