Russia's Volgina caught for doping

Natalia Volgina has had a cloud over her head since 2010. She has been the subject of drug rumors in Europe for three years.

I don't know if Safronov will face any penalty for missing his drug test. But he spent a year at Northern Arizona when I was running for the team eight years ago. Safronov had pills and syringes all over his apartment that he shared with 4 other runners. Im not surprised that he avoided a drug teat.

Specifically, Russian women. It seems like there are a dozen doping women from Russia caught for every man.

The track and field culture in Russia is a win at all cost mentality. These people have no shame. And they continue to try and beat the system. The Russian female middle distance runners and walkers are the worst drug takers around. The Russian marathoners are a close second. They cheat so bad and they have no remorse. Its the Putin way!

Russia has now lost about 1/4th of their elite athletes to doping and I still say they have not caught the dirtiest ones. There are a couple of Russians elite athletes who have not competed this season outside of Russia, I suspect they know WADA has a biological baseline of file and is just waiting for 2013 comparison data.

Safranov has been known to be dirty for some time now. Just ask his ex wife-

In America, some training groups, try, and actually BEAT the system. Thats the big difference.

Been Wrong!

As of 2008, WADA is not just depending on identifying illegal substances (T/E), the BP establishes an electronic record of your biological markers and looks at variances and deviations in your biological parameters. WADA also uses analytics to cross references data between athletes who share the same running group, coach and doctor(s).

With that said, the system still has flaws, you can get the benefits of doping during the out of competition season and allow your markers to return to normal before competing... that's a dangerous game to play for many reasons. There will always be individuals who will try to beat the system, but to think there is a frequently tested U.S. training group closely tied to corporate sponsors who are cheating as a group is doubtful. Like I said, no one can say what an individual will do, but I doubt a whole U.S. based group is cheating Mr. Been Wrong.

Btw, what U.S. group is running so incredibly that it must be drugs, the last time I checked, the best sprinters are in Jamaica and the best distance runners Africa.

The most elite training group in the world is in Portland, Oregon. You know...the training group that Bekele tried to join?

Maybe with Rupp, farah, levins, and centrowitz...but if you want to see workouts with MASSES of studs, go to the old dirt track in iten on a Wednesday evening.
