I get it here that if you can increase mileage to "high amounts", 50mpw+, a sub 20, even 19 5k is a piece of cake. without any speed work, or maybe just a few strides a week
I want to shoot for sub 20 in a few months, hopefully sub 18 or low 18s by next year. i get it that i should just increase my mileage to 60-70mpw by next summer (is that a good amount for a 11-12 month span?) and then focus on speed?
can i do all my runs easily or should i take any hard during my year-round base mileage increase?
