Former D1 runner. Sub 14:30 5k, 30:00ish minute 10k. 3+ years away from the sport/ serious training. Decided to take the plunge and just sign up for a marathon.
I have kept in shape over the last few years, but not much running wise (only weight gained is from the gym). I would say I've gone on 100 5 mile runs in that time, but that is it really.
Any tips/ insights on training from anyone based on my long lay off?
I feel like I am going to have to walk a fine line between training hard and not over-doing it. I've been running 6 miles at a comfortable pace the last week or so.
