I'm heading to Oregon on business at the end of the month. Tualatin near Beaverton. Questions:
- does Nike allow fat old men to slog around the track on their campus?
- Is Portland the better city to stay in?
- I've run on the trails in Eugene. Anything I should be sure to see in Portland area?
- Any fun dinner spots?

1. Nike does allow individuals to run around their track.
2. Portland is where you should stay. There is very little to do in Beaverton and is a suburb. Portland is the center and has unlimited food choices and entertainment.
3. You need to run Forest Grove. Leif Erickson is a solid trail in the forest, Wildwood is the best trail. Catch it off of Germantown Road and you'll love it.
4. Cheaper dinner - Luc Lac (Vietnamese) or Fish Sauce...or get over to the east side which has more reasonable options.
Riley means "Forest Park", not Forest Grove (which is a college town west of Beaverton). As long as you have transportation, definitely stay in Portland, not Beaverton. And yes, try to run in Forest Park at least once, even if you start from the zoo. Wildwood is wonderful and my favorite place to run.
