Running crazy marathons since Febuary. I know They are no sub 2:20 performances but this guy has ran:
2:22 @ Mercedes Marathon
2:25 @ Little Rock Marathon
2:22 @ Knoxville Marathon
2:24 @ Carmel Marathon
2:22 @ Glass City Marathon
2:25 @ Lincoln Marathon
Seems to me like this guy is another Jynocel Basweti on EPO?
I agree, I think it's weird and eye catching to see those results. To be able to run that many marathons within that time frame is skeptical of PED's.
I raced against this guy a few weeks ago and looked up his results since the race director mentioned that he had run several marathons this year. I was taken back by what I saw. His PR coming into this year was 2:27 (according to athlinks). Then in 2013 he's run 8 total marathons all 2:30 or under. His last 4 races were all within one month of each other and all between 2:22 and 2:25. Very Michael Wardian like.
Kudos to him if he's clean. That is an incredible string of races for a guy that has't run faster than 2:27 prior to this year. Maybe some people are super talented at recovering from marathons, but it does seem other worldly to me since it takes me several weeks to recover from an all-out marathon.
You know this dude ran 2:12 in Poland in his hey-day, right? Kawauchi is more suspect than a guy 10-min off his PR.
He was a pretty solid runner at Harding University. A lot of marathoners do this sort of thing. Not a big deal. Nothing fishy at all.
Yeah, What I want to know how is he affording to travel to all this races?? he's only winning $500- 1500 at most? flying to those races he would basically break even? seems crazy to me.

the races are probably paying the travel
I agree that he is probably not making much money by doing this when you factor in expenses. He lives in Arkansas and most of these races are within driving distance, but still a big expense even if he is driving. With his recent performances, some race directors will pick up some/all of the travel expenses though.
When did he run 2:12? His other PR's and results from college do not indicate 2:12 marathon potential. His best college results were from 2011 with a 9:05 steeplechase and 30:20 10K.

Wait, you missed some races. The guy is making money on the second tier marathons and half marathons. This is what I could find for his 2013 so far.
2/9 - Mississippi River Marathon - 2:30 1st - $500
2/17 - Mercedes Marathon - 2:22 3rd - $500
3/3 - Little Rock Marathon - 2:26 5th - $500
3/17 - Germantown Half Marathon - 1:07 3rd - $300
3/30 - Scottsboro Half Marathon - 1:11 1st - could not find awards
4/7 - Knoxville Marathon - 2:22 1st - $1500
4/13 - Murray Half Marathon - 1:11 7th - $0
4/20 - Carmel Marathon - 2:24 2nd - $500
4/28 - Glass City Marathon - 2:22 2nd - $750
5/5 - Lincoln Marathon - 2:25 3rd - $500
Not a bad spring, $5,000+. Of course he had to run 7 marathons to get it. That would suck.

He's driving or paying his own flights. Those races don't pay for flights.

Most of these races will give him free hotel and will even help out with gas. He isn't making a ton of money but out of the 5k he has won he has probably spend no more than 1500 for expenses. Seriously though it is sad in my world when we are turned away with a guy who is running multiple races and doing what he can to try to get by and accuse him of EPO. If he was on EPO he would be running faster. He was a 9:05 steeple chaser that means he could run 2:20.
No Way, I personal know Most of those races do not give out travel expenses. So it would be pretty exspensive to go to these races too only make 500 bucks, plan ticket alone cost's that. Even if he is given a hotel room which almost every race does, still makes him basically running for free. Stupid if you ask me!

He's getting a hotel, but no money for gas or flights. Other than Toledo (12+ hrs from Searcy), the other places are

Makes sense, why he hasn't ran any marathons except the one this fall. I wonder if he will be back to run more marathons this winter/spring.. what ever happened to his training partner james Kirwa in searcy,AR ?
