So a nagging foot injury caused me to can my track season. Thought it was minor, but after 4 weeks of being out and it still hurting I decided to see a doctor..turns out it was a metatarsal stress fracture. Will have to spend 6-8 weeks in a boot (injury was not well taken care of)and then a few more easing back in.
I was hoping to build up to 65mpw this summer, now it looks like i'll be lucky to get to 50. My question is, what can I do in the meantime? I can swim and bike, but have now idea how to put together a 6 week base-building program with these activities. What should a regular week look like? How much can I add per week? Do I need cutback weeks like running? Any help is deeply appreciated.
