I have been a sprinter all of my years in track, which is 4 years. I did 110m hurdles for 3 of those years with 100m/200m, this year I just did 100m and 200m. my times are horrible: 100m - 14.5, 200m - 29
I have always been fascinated with distance and want to stop being puny and subaverage at sports and step it up! I have been on and off for a year of "distance running" if you'd call it that. I was doing great last summer of 10mile runs, 25mpw but i stopped and did occasional 2mile runs here and there to stay fit
I am a cyclist and average 60-80mi a week, 3-4 rides and 5:30hrs a week roughly, doing long rides of 50miles. I wanna transition to running because there are no cycling teams around where I live or races and the school has a XC and track team like i said id like to run distance for
Basically...I want to take this year off for XC and track and train for senior year in both, XC being my first time ever doing it
My 5K time from last summer was 21:09. I did a 7k run yesterday, avg 7:30 pace and felt good. I don't know how many miles to begin with and speedwork/all that. Remember i have 12-13mos of training so is it possible to run sub 18 for 5K?
anymore questions please let me know!
