fitness decreases about 1%, fatigue decreases about 10%.
What you lose in fitness is made up for what you gain in freshness. btw this is not something I just made up. It's what's predicted by the model developed by Banister et al. in "A systems model of the effects of training on physical performance" 1975, most recently implemented by Andrew Coggan PhD for Training Peaks software.
