I am considering going back to school to get a master's in forestry or ecology since I'm finding I can't do much of anything with a bachelor's in biology besides be a lab tech, which I don't really care for. I've realized I love the outdoors and enjoy a bit of blue-collar work, so I've thought ecology or forestry would be great. I'm really interested in ecology and the maintenance of forests and other ecosystems to a lesser degree. I figure this area is somewhat limited in job numbers though since there are only so many forests, and most people managing them have probably done it all their life. Forests aren't exactly growing either. This makes me wonder if maybe this isn't a good field to get into, but I don't really have any experience in the field or know anyone who does. Anyone here with some knowledge care to give their take?
