I've been running for a bit more than a year. Late 20s male. Not fast - 19 minute 5k pr on about 25 miles per week average, but have been seeing my times improving pretty consistently.
Trouble is that I can't seem to get above 30 mpw. Even at just 25-30 miles, my whole left leg and foot complex seems to constantly be contending with a constellation of low-grade issues - runner's knee, Achilles inflammation, medial arch pain, etc. Nothing that has sidelined me for more than a couple of weeks - but at the same time, nothing that truly goes away. The knee pain is particularly stubborn, and migratory, shifting around, but almost always present.
Video gait analysis shows slight supination in the left ankle, and I was told by a sports chiropractor that I have comparatively limited mobility through the sagittal plane with my left foot - which could possible explain the turning-out/supination.
I run primarily in Kinvaras and Wave Riders, shifting shoes has been little help.
No strengthening work, ART, or anything else that I've tried has seemed to really help.
Any suggestions from the more knowledgeable would be greatly appreciated.
