Does anyone else love staying in hotels?

I honestly love getting up and going running and then coming back to a hotel breakfast, even if it's just stuff like muffins and yogurt and coffee. I don't know why. Part of it is likely that it's free (not really, but I trick myself into thinking it's free), and I love exploring new places with my morning runs, even if it's just some podunk town in rural Utah or Montana or something. I tend to sleep really well in hotel beds too for some reason.

I enjoy taking a big poop in a clean hotel bathroom.

Also, the morning run followed by continental breakfast can't be beat.

Traveled for work for three years. I agree with everything that has been said. Loved me some Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn express. Loved coming back from a run and flying through the car port in front of hotels much to the surprise of any one in the area.

I like how big the bath rooms are generally.

Strangely enough I keep hotel rooms cleaner than my own home even though I know I could trash the place.

I've been married over 30 years. Sex is less frequent now. However, hotel = guaranteed sex. It is hard to explain. Maybe it's almost like we're getting away with something. Who knows? Either way, I'll take it.

Yup. Love it. Remember that Rick Majerus always lived in hotels when he was coaching basketball and I always envied him. The only downside is that a lot of the more affordable ones are along a strip somewhere and running from them involves passing miles of car lots, shopping centers, chain restaurants, etc. and if you're out towards mid-day traffic is awful too.

I am in a hotel 4 nights a week (consultant) and after only a year of it, am absolutely sick of them. They were fun for a few months but its gets old after awhile. Many of the areas I stay make it hard to find a decent area to run and the overall shittyness of treadmills gets old. Just my 2 cents

I don't run anymore (got injured in college), so I don't have to put up with the crappy suburban running. Just straight to the bar for me!

Sorry to hear that. That would take alot of the hotel issue out of it...

This. After 5 years of traveling for work, I hate hotels. I also hate running in towns I'm unfamiliar with and having to constantly worry about someones unleashed dog coming after me. If you enjoy this you must not travel all that often.

When I used to run, I did hate running on unfamiliar streets. Ended up doing a lot of out and backs that felt 10x as long as they actually were. But now that I don't have to put up with that, it is great.

I think that part of it must be that when I'm at home I feel guilty if I spend a night doing nothing. But when I'm in Peoria and have to be in some crappy generic hotel anyway, I'm totally free to watch TV, jack off 4 times in a night, drink a little too much and flirt with some woman 20 years older than me, etc...all things that I would feel like an idiot for doing at home.

I love the clean sheets and taking a dump in those clean bathrooms. It's good stuff.

Fantastic subject. I love hotels. I love the bars, the room service, the maid service, and the easy sex. When traveling on the corporation I also love the per diem that they give me.

I love hotels too, and traveling, but I really don't like running in the dumpy strip-mall towns I sometimes get stuck in. If it's in a good location, great.

I've grown tired of the really low-end hostels though. I need more space, so I have some higher quality standards than that.
