That's crazy for a season opener, especially since he said he is being more cautious with his training. Anyone know if he has ever opened a season faster?

I thought you were trolling.
But you are not

9.86 and injured last year? He trashed everyone else. I'm shocked.
I thought you were trolling as well. Bolt had better watch his back.
I thought Tyson was heading to retirement.
In the year Bolt went 9.76/9.73, had he run a 10.03 already that year, or was 9.76 his opener? No one else has opened faster though.
Kills Nesta carter after a poor start to get 9.86? Dude Gay please please please don't get hurt and the gold medal is yours this year. All the top Jamaican runners all have injuries (Bolt-Blake-Powell). This is your year to shine and get back on top.
Anyone have results? I couldn't find them on the meet website. I also see they had a free stream. Too bad I missed it. If you saw the race describe it please.
OMG!
Gay must have had a tornado at his back.
anyone get a wind reading? regardless, this is an encouraging result if only for the win alone. to see him being able to come back from a poor start and gap nesta carter by a quarter second is impressive, with or without a big tailwind for the fast time.

You might want to lay down some tarp before you open this link.

SPRINTGEEZER!!!
For anyone that has yet to see it still IAAF posted it on their facebook.

"Congratulations to Tyson Gay for his 9.86 win at the Kingston Invitationa"
If Tyson ahd a better start, thats easily 9.8 flat, Great race by him regardless
That's an AWESOME season starter. Gay is such a determined athlete who ahs never doubted he can compete for the best. His start has always been slow (strange for a short sprinter) but his speed is awesome and it appears his changed attitude to his style of training is paying off.
I'm genuinely looking excited at the competition this year.
Wow, what an awesome run. I have always liked Gay. Stay healthy this season, please! I would love to see Bolt, Blake, Powell and Gay all in top form in the final. Wowiee
0.2 wind
Please, please, please stay healthy Tyson. I honestly believe Tyson is the only guy in the world who can beat Bolt when healthy.
The first time Tyson ran this fast in 2012 when wind is factored in was the Olympic final.
I'm diggin' that haircut and raggedy beard.
Reminds me a little of a rugged version of Walt Frazier.
He ran 9.85 in May of 2008 at the Adidas Grand Prix when Bolt first broke the world record. Not sure if that was his opener though.
