Salazar said his piece in "14 Minutes" and it wasn't pretty. However, it was kind of fun to see everyone scuttle about for a week or two when that came out.
Since this is an anonymous board, it would be interesting to hear what others might have to say.
To keep things somewhat straight, just state:

I'm far from elite but at the pasta dinner for Eugene, Cathie Twomey Bellamy said that should could never be an elite runner nowadays because of LetsRun. She was pretty up-front about it. I started laughing because I frequent this forum, but she was dead serious.

He didn't really call out this board by name, but this place IS World Famous and there is none other like it.

Cathie Twomey Bellamy was never elite. She was the texasrunnergirl of her day.
I think you would very surprised about the large number of elites who visit Letsrun.
We love it.
This place had its day as being useful for running, these days there is so much junk to sift through to get to anything useful. It is a great place to be anonymous and troll and be the brave personality (in conversation--I'm a brave runner) I can't be in real life, as I'm shy and would never speak my mind like I do here. It's actually a fun message board, if you can handle being in the jungle. I like it here. For running, I belong to another message board that comes with a great training log and lots of user groups specific to my interests, and where I've made lots of friends. Haven't made any friends here. It's a jungle. LOL. Like I said, it's fun here in a Tarzan sort of way.
I see coaches drop by all the time. IMO that's better than the elites. Coaches and what they say are a secret portal into the elite's lives. If the elite's spoke their minds we'd all be in a state of boredom.
If you are elite and disagree then speak up.
I am convinced every elite reads it, even if they don't admit it. Sometimes they'll even claim they don't read it while clearly knowing what people are saying about them on it - it's like how do you know people are so critical of you on the boards if you don't read them?
Some of them are big fans of it though - David Torrence, Kara Goucher, Teg...

Some visit for the front page, and not the boards at all.
Some skim the boards, and then head out, they have busy lives.
Most read the boards and then never come back.
As I've shared before, I hung out with some Aussie elites a few days before the Payton Jordan, and the phrase I remember best being uttered about this place was "fcking sht hole, mate." Major name Aussie, I'll let you guess whom.
I know tons of former elites, really famous peeps, who find this place ranging from intolerable, to despicable.
The Brojo's like to make the excuse/analogy that their board is and should be the running equivalent of an NFL chat board.

You can see what elites think about this board by going back in the archives and seeing how few elites post here any more.
It has also been noted in many college and pro athlete interviews that it is policy to stay off this site.
AND, every single thread any one has ever floated like this ends up getting CENSORED.
Because while the Brojo's think you ought to be able to act like NFL jackhandles and call each other derogatory terms for whatever...they can't handle having a thread calling out their own behavior and product remain in their archives.

They don't want to be ACCUSED of reading this message board, though many read the news front page.
Every time I've tried to post what Ryan Hall actually said about this message board, it gets deleted by the mods (hint: Salazar would agree). So I don't try any more.
