Acosta: "I have about 700 miles on my current pair of shoes. I'm trying to scramble to get a pair that I don't have to pay for."
Here's an idea AJ, why don't you go get yourself a part-time job, stop blowing your money on booze and go spend the 70 bucks on a new pair? Why this sense of entitlement like he's too good to buy shoes? I know plenty of pros more elite than him (and way more consistent) who work part or full time jobs and aren't sponsored. Isn't Jason Hartman without a sponsor? He's 10x the runner Acosta is.
The hilarious part is later in the article it says, "Nagging injuries were an issue, and athletes paying out of pocket for massage and physical therapy tend to have more nagging injuries."
... or more likely, he's injured because he's too cheap to buy new trainers.
