I don't think it's the guy next to the woman bc he appears to be darker in skin color than the original surveillance images show, not to mention that he appears to be running (White Hat is walking casually), and he's CONSIDERABLY behind white hat in distance, whereas Black Hat in the surveillance footage is a couple steps ahead of White Hat the whole way. Suddenly he'd be 100 yards behind and running in a panic? I don't think so.

All that, plus the guy in this photo has a reddish color on the front of his jacket, which is not visible on Black Hat in the security footage.

Also a more careful look at the mostly obscured man behind the red box/post (face not visible) shows he's wearing a black jacket, khakis, and shoes that look the same as security footage. Skin tone also appears to match. I'd bet good money it's the same guy, and he's still right in front of White Hat, as he was the whole time.

What makes you think "black hat" is not a few steps behind "white hat" changing into a red jacket? How many other khaki pants/black-hat/dark-shoe people were out there on Monday?I can't see much of anything behind the red emergency box except a black hood+"Black hat" had a dark grey hoodie on under his jacket, not black, from my view. Take another look.

If you look, there is a man almost totally obscured by the pole/red box in the photo, turning the corner in front of white hat. He also seems to be walking, not running, and is ahead of white hat as he was in the surveillance videos.

No. That guy has no hood & looks to be a larger build.

And to the conservative guy who keeps saying it's liberal environmentalists: I'm sure it's not the guy changing into the red jacket because his skin tone is completely different. His hat is also a different pattern. And even if for some reason he did change coats (while his partner didn't), there's no way they are the same person.

It appears to me that the survelance images show the two suspects walking towards where they would be dropping the backpacks - the opposite direction to the high-res photo. So it stands to reason that the order of who is in front has changed. Mind you, the suspect #2 with darker skin appears to have his pants tucked in to his boots or something like that - in the high-res photo that guy doesn't.

It appears to me that white hat guy is running. His left arm is not in a walking carriage, it is in a light running carriage....to me he is for sure running...

Interesitng point about his arm, but doesn't his center of gravity make it look like he's walking? Sure doesn't look like running to me. Maybe a power walk?

The guy in the background IS NOT black hat dude. If you enlarge the picture the guy in the background is wearing a different hat, jacket and appears to be chinese and part of the group of other chinese people standing around him.

In response to your earlier comment about not being able to see much of the guy behind the post -- you're definitely right, and there's no way to "prove" that it's the same guy. But bc of the black hood and, if you look closer to sidewalk level you can see he's wearing khaki cargo-style pants and shoes that look similar to black hat dude, I think it's quite likely him. Of course you can't see any of his head at all, so who knows. But I'm 100% sure it's not the guy in the background next to the woman. Unless he found time to buy an entirely new wardrobe and likely change race.

Correcting for a guessed point perspective of 10 feet, you can estimate the height based on that mountain bike wheel (I'm going with 26 inches (28 inches if you include the tire))...

I get 6'2''. That could be inches off, but it would be difficult to say he's short (

The high res picture is a lot easier to decipher.
