I just did an interview with Dejen him.
Also when pressed, he said he views Hagos Gebrhiwet and not Mo Farah as the one most likely to deny him gold.
This should be a fun summer. The guy's English is pretty good and he's got some natural charisma.

I'm calling it right here Rojo- Galen Rupp will be the 2013 Moscow World Championships 5 and 10k gold medalist. He's shown astonishing speed for a distance runner and these guys gonna have a hard time against him.
Everyone knows that Farah isn't going to be the one to deny him gold. This is because Farah needs to back off of the juice for a while until the heat isn't on them anymore.

Good decision by Gebre. He should have won last year, but placed himself too far back with 400 to go. What was his last lap? A low 52?
My money is on him winning the 5000. The 10000 is wide open and will be very interesting.
I know. wrote:

I don't know about Rupp winning the 5,000, but I think he is definitely a threat in the 10,000.
I think the 5k and 10k will be won by 2 different men. Between Galen, Mo, Hagos, Gebre, Bekele or Bekele, and a Kenyan or two it will be very hard for one man to do it.
I'd be willing to bet Gebremeskel doesn't even toe the line for the 10k at moscow.

non-championship year = more chances to chase times, no focus on peaking for championship and going through rounds
That may be true, but since it's not a championship year a lot of guys who could run those times aren't concerned with the indoor season - they're just tuning up for outdoors.
That said, Rupp is certainly someone everyone should be watchful of come Moscow.
My guess: Rupp wins th 10000. He and Farah will crank from 800 out. others won't be able to handle it. Rupp is improving.
That was easy wrote:

If Bekele and Sihine get back in shape, then it's all over
Rupp FTW @ 10K
Mo FTW @ 5K
Yeah, we're on the internet. We've been on this couch trolling and playing FIFA all into the wee morning, mate. Tea's ready, gotta go.
Yes, Dejen was too far back with 400 to go at London.
But give Mo credit, not only was he savvy enough to be up front when it counted, he was FIT enuff to place himself in good position, hold his spot, and kick.
Mo has his work cut out if he wants gold in Moscow, that is for sure! So much hungry talent out there.
Can Bekele come back? Could be. At his best, he's a joy to watch. I was looking at some Bekele video the other day. what a stride. You can just see he's the best in a pack, smooth, confident, the whole deal.
They're me on the internet? In what sense?

This will be revenge time by Kenya and Ethiopia. They will be more cautious and will deny anyone who thinks it is owed to them. I think they were furious for allowing slow times and kicks to dictate Olympic outcome. The know the same exact thing will happen if they mess up and I don't see how they will do it again. I also don't think there is one person this season capable of doubling. Save this post.
What is Dejen him?
Speaking for just the 5000M distance Dejen's comments strike me as reasonable and tame. Dejen has every reason to be confident he beats Farah in 13'. If he is any kind of competitor at all he should be seriously pissed off about London. Only Uceny should be more pissed off about how a race played out. Given that Farah seems to be focusing on the longer distances right now its reasonable enough to think Farah is not the chief threat at 5000M despite being two time defending champion
Not sure what to make of his boast about 10K. The outstanding question is can he walk the walk?

I think the primary problem for the Africans in the 5k and 10k last summer was that Mo was the best runner in the field. Rupp is as good or better this year than Mo was last year...

Based on what? Rupp hasn't even raced a 5k or 10k yet, has he?
