Would Rupp have beaten Ben today? Dartmouth beats Stanford. Old Lannana outdoes new Lannana.

USA looked very good. They will place high.
Ben True=Beast.
This rates up there with Craig Virgin's pre African era victory. Mind boggling, really. Derrick looking manly as well.

True dat!
Great, great, great job by True. I was initially SHOCKED, but remembered he was right behind Rupp in his youth.
In the words of the Bro's, "talent never goes away."
Also means he has the A standard for Moscow, great race.
So I know True went to run with Tim Broe in Hanover a couple of years ago but the funding got pulled from the In the Arena project. I also see he continues to list his home as Hanover. Does anyone have details of who he is training with and who is his coach?
Great run by him today. Also great that LR has both a community presence and the links to the event easy to access.
He trains with a group of pronghorn antelope and his coach is a short faced cave bear that is 14' tall.
i think tim broe's still his coach

Dartmouth's Ben True and Abbey D' ...pretty good pair of runners out of New England.
Hey that painting looks like a bunch of Dartmouth guys back before they went Co-ed.
In the interview posted by Brojos, True says he is coached by Dartmouth women's coach Mark Coogan now.
True is a beast indeed. Also, the course was slick and tough, which was probably an advantage for him. He comes from Maine where the sidewalks are icy half the year and also has a developed sense of balance from lots of skiing.
I remember racing him back in high school. Well, if you can call trailing by 100m "racing". Good guy.
Mark Coogan is coaching Ben True. And Abbie D. See a trend my friend?
Does that make Coogan the Second Coming of Lanana?
Remember Bob Kempanin(sp.?) who went on to marathon greatness after graduating from Dartmouth? He trained under Vin after his undergrad days...
anyone ever run cross country before?
footing is big deal. cold weather will really throw off guys from the tropics. kenya should have picked guys that can run in these conditions.
having said that - the usa deserves the 2 nd place. its been a long time coming.
and it is good to see kenya fail, due to their stupid federation, stupid camps, stupid selection. they are about to be darwined out of distance running if they keep it up.
congrats - usa!
Ben and Abbie need to produce offspring.
To Boston33:
You're exactly right, after 'In the Arena' folded up shop in Hanover Broe moved to Michigan but Ben stayed behind. Tim continued to coach him, from a distance, last year but this year Coogan took over. I wouldn't be surprised to see a handful of other pros joining that group in the next year or so.
Ben just really likes living in Hanover, and why not?? It's really nice here!
Congratulations Ben, and Mark Coogan, too!

Didya see who won the race?
