I had just read the article and it is basically saying how most of Europe has retreated from WXC and even says something about the Americans.
However, you guys are citing his 21st place from 2010 as the main reason why he wouldn't win WXC. here are a few other things to consider
A) He placed 11th in the horrendous heat of Mombasa back in 2007
B) 2010 was when he was still trying to figure things out. He proceeds to smoke Rupp in the deep freeze before training with him to get eachother on a whole different level.
The Contenders from the IAAF:
Merga - Mo's B*tch in 2011, injured most of 2012.
Kipsiro - wasn't even a factor in London
Medhin - SMOKED on the last lap in London
the Kenyans - very unpredictable, but easily worse than Kipsang who they booted off of their squad. None of these guys would be on that squad if it wasn't for their politics.
while he might not win, he would definately be a major factor if he ran this race.
As for the junior race comment, the fact that Gebrhiwet is running the junior race indicates that he is not confident at all - Isiah Koech did this last time and he was outside the top-10.
