Lawi still may have been able to hold him off, but it probably would've been a lean at the line b/c Jenkins had his momentum completely thrown off by Erassa.
You must have been watching a different race.

I agree with this.

Please post the video of the race. From my vantage point, Jenkins was looking to make a close and quick pass and a runner in an orange singlet moved out slightly causing the initial bump between the two. Which was just that, a slight bump. I would love to see it again in slow motion, and at real speeds from different angles.
I was cheering for Jenkins, but every time I watch the video, all I see is Jenkins pulling up on Erassa's shoulder and then shoving him off the inside of the track. I'm sure something prompted the shove (either Erassa started to move out or Jenkins lost his balance slightly) but if I saw the same video with Jimmy Wyner in Jenkins's place I would have concluded he shoved Erassa just because he felt like it, because the video offers zero explanation for why the shove was warranted.

I can't seem to find the video. It is available anywhere other than ESPN3 (which I don't have)?
The grab wasn't the problem - Erassa was going slower than the other 3. Jenkins bumped him because he was too slow and the grab was meaningless. His head did not come back due to that - look again. His stumble was after and due to Campbell running up on him and catching his foot. And look where Erassa ended up - 25 yards behind the others.
Hey buddy, Erassa is from Ethiopia and is an American citizen. There was no shove and it appeared to be incidental contact. Jenkins was losing his balance and unintentiionally grabbed Erassa. Now, go back to reading Mein Kampf.
