The time of her at halfway was 2:55 and she ended im 5:05 witha 60 second last lap ie she ran near 2:10 for an 800 with a sub 60 finish. Interesting possibilities for the 800 in spring?

She's already run faster than 2:10.
Yeah but the uneven splits is what im getting at. If you can run as a guy a 64 then a 54 he's definitely better than 158 if a better paced race
2:55 is ridiculous.
Don't these women have any balls?

No they do not.

Some of us do.
Paging Ventolin^3 to even out those splits...
We already know she can run well under 2:10. I could easily run this kind of split as a 4:30/2:02 guy in HS, so it doesn't signify much. Her last 300 or 200 would probably be more interesting.

She's already run sub 4:30. She's a beast who obviously was running for the win.

Doesn't mean anything. Jordan Hasay ran, I believe, close to a 2:08 second half 800 in a World Youth or World Junior champs race back around the same age. And Cain is already significantly faster.
Does anyone have info on that race and even if hasay did run a last 800 in 208 I doubt it was anything like low or mid 59 and 29 to close with
In 2007 World Youth Championships in Ostrava, Hasay led at 800 meters in 2:16 and ended 2nd for 1500 at 4:17 so her last 700 was 2:01 and change.. that's nowhere near 2:08 for 800..
Cain was the best 800 runner in the field.

10/10
She was 1:30 for the last 600 - I think that's an excellent indicator of sub-2.

it's usually pointless trying to do a line of fit for a youngster as they are rapidly improving, but as a national senior champ, she's entitled to it
these are iaaf listed pbs
http://www.iaaf.org/athletes/united-states/mary-cainncaa app gives a 4'28i as 4'25 outdoors
an 9'38i converts with 1.08 to 8'55i which with indoor app is 8'50
listed as 2'03pb from last year ( obviously better now but unknown )
some lines of fit
( don't worry about the 3k being too fast - her best event currently is 1500/800 & her endurance doesn't yet "fully" extend to 3k - that will take coupla years ) :
57.5 / 2'02.9 -> 4'03.9 , 4'23.3 , 8'37.4
57.0 / 2'02.4 -> 4'03.8 , 4'23.3 , 8'39.1
56.5 / 2'01.9 -> 4'03.7 , 4'23.3 , 8'40.8
56.0 / 2'01.4 -> 4'03.7 , 4'23.3 , 8'42.5
i don't really know much about her, but brief perusal of articles tends me to think 2nd or 3rd lines woud be her current ability outdoors
most pertinently, i do think she coud be, currently a 4'03 gal at 16y !
mary has shot at non-chinese youth wr of 4'03.96 this year as she's likely to be getting stronger during course of the year

Mary ran 55.74 in an open 400 last spring. Give her a line with 55.0 speed.

1:31 low, second fastest high school girls 600 this year.

55.0 / 2'00.4 -> 4'03.5 , 4'23.3 , 8'45.9
that woud get her right at the 2-flat mark
