So what steps did you take? I mean if someone comes to me and describes how their master helps them commit crimes I will do something like inform the police to investigate the character-that is if I am not part of that crime ring. Did you find out from him who his manager was and stuff like that? I don't mean to pick on you but truly if you hear something like that you would be interested to know a little more. That guy may not even have been an athlete of substance. Maybe if you took necessary action whoever it was (manager) would be in jail and this kind of thing would not have happened.

The Brojos are simply waiting to confirm whether or not the Kenyans are sponsored by Nike. If Nike can't be tied to a cheating athlete, then it's not really worth the Brojos' time.

They did not described anything it just to show you the mentality in today's world. And that not only the so called "bad guys" are to blame.

I know as individuals there is very little we can do. AK is charged with that job and they should wake up and do their job or quit. I believe there are tens even hundreds more getting doped by some unscrupulous agents in the name of Vitamins. And those targeted are the young and upcoming and very inexperienced and those in the second tier. Someone is out there to test the effectiveness of the drug on the Kenyans and since they would not collude with them in their evil acts, they call the drug by a different name. Ultimately it is the Kenyans who must stop this. Kenyans are great runners and do not need to cheat their way to their winnings.

Tested positive in OCTOBER 2012 and now they ban him. Why does it take them 5 months? A sample should be tested within 3 days, B sample 10 days later.

Yes, I agree with this 100 percent.

The problem is not the athletes, who usually are ignorant about drugs - regardless if they knowingly take them, the same as the general population.

The problem is the drug pushers, producers, testers, the giant organizations that promote the drugs, and thereby, the drug believers! The whole thing is a marketing scam, that has absolutely zero significance other than the promoting of the illicit formulations.

The banning of athletes is nothing more than a deceitful scheme used to garner headlines, to further promote the drugs and trying to pretend that they have some benefits.

In a group discussion approximately 15 years ago, a man stated he was taking 13 different medications, and didn't have any clue what they were for. His wife, sitting beside him, said she was taking 19 different medications! from the same physician, and also had no clue what they were for! Sadly, the woman died a few months later.

From what I have seen, this situation is very common in the U.S., and probably in the rest of the world.

Of course I see this on LR, where people go hysterial about drugs, and yet almost all of them have NO CLUE of what the drugs are and their harmful effects. The only thing they know is that people are taking the drugs, on the one side disparaging people for doing so, on the other side feeling so sorry that someone died, while taking drugs trying to be saved from some imaginary disease, and the drugs of course never do work for this. Onward goes the hypocrisy.

Meanwhile, Hall has "delayed" his trip to Kenya...Hall knows something we all don't (there is smoke over the country of Kenya right now).

But it is not really the World Record that is the tell tale, it is the number of people running close to the WR. 2:06:50 stood for a decade through most of the 90s. Khalid Khannouchi was WR holder and unbeatable from 1999-2002. Now he is 57th or worse on the all time list is just over a decade. Human performance does not work like that. The multitude of people running these times can ONLY be due to doping or short courses or some other form of cheating.

Are there actually valid mathematical models that show what improvements in human performance are possible?

I remember reading about the predictions from the 1930's (by Brutus Hamilton?) that no one would run faster than 4 minutes for the mile, and now it's almost routine for top milers.

Now take a look at the 5k and 10k performance lists over that same period, and you'll see what's going on. There's very little money on the track, especially for a 10k runner, so you have a lot of very fast guys going up to the marathon in their primes. I'm sure there's doping going on too, but the reason marathoning has exploded is that there's a lot of money on the roads. Couple that with stories about guys winning a couple hundred bucks for running sub-13:00 5ks, and you'll see where the talent pool is heading.
