Feel free to answer this question from either point of view. There are obvious choices in the way kids dress today or the way that they communicate. But what do you see as some major differences?

Amount of nose and ear hair.
I am not sure there is enough space on the internet to list all these...
Give me a couple.
I wish I had the same willingness to dream as I did as a teenager. I don't like how cynical I have become.

For me this is basically it. People tell me I look and act much younger than I am. People my age think I'm much younger, but I, too, have become more cynical.
Maybe it's because there is no more future to dream about. No more PR's to run.

Besides the swollen gut and gynecomastia? Not much.

The "physical plant" feels dramatically different.
The perspective of time is vastly different.
Opportunities for a 17-year old are perceived as virtually infinite. For a 50-year old they are perceived as clearly circumscribed.

It is so funny how many people fall for this. They are being nice. I tell it to people all the time how they look younger than they really are. It makes them feel good and the majority of people believe it, even the ones that actually look older than they really are.
Boob saggage.
When you're in your 20's you don't know anything, but you think you know.
When you're in your 30's you still don't know, but now you know you don't know.
When you're in your 40's you now know, but you still think you don't know.
When you're in your 50's you know, and you know you know.

I am 56 years old and although you may be right, I think I liked life better when I thought I knew, but didn't.

No seriously, I have students who think I'm in my 20's or 30's. Girls (in their 20's) think I'm younger then get yukked out when they find out how old I am.
I won my ag in a race this summer and someone said that they "refuse to believe" that I was in my 50's. I had to show ID.
So, keep running and eat well and you'll age well.

Actually the biggest difference between a 17-year-old and a 50-year-old would be just about 34 years--if it's the 17-year-old's birthday and the 50-year-old's birthday is tomorrow.
testosterone and a swinging dick?

I am 50 and get the same comments, I just don't believe them. I don't think I look old, but I think I look my age and think people are just being nice when they say I look younger.
I was recently working at a home show and one of my co-workers was talking to a women that was clearly in her early 50's and he told her he thought she was in her late 30's. My co-worker is happily married and her husband was there, so it wasn't a pick up line. She was eating eat it up as he told her that. When she left I said did you really think she was in her late 30's and he said, "hell no", but I was just being nice and trying to get a sale.
When I was 17, I encountered too many individuals who proved to be a waste of time. By 50 you're much more adept at surrounding yourself with people of value.
This is let's run.
17 year old runner: Live in his mommy's basement. Has no job. Believes the world revolves around him. Has an endurance limit of only one-minute.
50 year old runner: Inherited hi mommy's basement. His 17-year kid, a runner, lives there now. He has job but not have enough to retire. Has difficulty rising to the occasion.
