He wants to PR at all those distances. I would dearly love to see him improve on his 44.89 400m time. He will apparently only do early-season 400's: http://www.athleticsweekly.com/news/tyson-gay-targets-early-season-400m-best/ But, oops! There's that visit to a foreign clinic, and who did he take with him? The guy who letsrunners like to call "Captain SARMS", who was just eclipsed by the most disgustingly dirty athlete I have seen since the Jamaicans, Aries Merritt. It looks like Oliver needed to try something different, because in 2012 he had no answer for Merritt. And as if letsrunners needed any more fodder for discussion, check out "Star" "working on" Lolo, in what appears to be his living room, at the bottom of this page: http://theriptool.com/rip-muscle-injury-prevention-tool.htm?t=081120120957 Have at it, letsrunners! |

I would have loved to see him do the 400m at London. I think it would have been better because the start wouldn't have been as hard on his injury |

I am also of the belief that Gay could be clean. But this does his reputation no good in my eyes. Having said that, I would absolutely LOVE to see him crack the top 2 in the 200m, and even make a serious run at the 400. He already went 44.89, apparently with some physical problems at the time, and he doesn't even train the race. Sure he runs it in practice, but unless he's an absolute natural at racing the 400, there should be significant room for improvement, assuming he's back to his baseline fitness. He has absolutely beautiful sprint form, except for his first few steps. His top-speed form is impeccable. It's always ridiculous to pick "the best ever", but IMHO along with Lewis and Bolt, he has a legitimate claim because of his times, and his range. Did I mention his top-speed form? So smooth--if he can coast that form, or better, then if he trained for the 400, he might just be the best in the world at that distance. Wow, I can't wait to see him give it a go. I hope he does more than one race, though. |

Apparently this guy also works with Jamaicans, at least according to this board post on the web: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056719782 Big surprise. |

This might sound stupid, but I actually thought Gay was clean in the past, or at least not doping any more than any other sprinter. I followed him fairly closely from the time he was a jr. in college and nothing fishy really ever caught my attention. I've also met the guy, and he seems like a really genuine, great guy. When he ran 9.71, I don't think I've ever seen anyone look more focused before a race. My god was he jacked up and in the zone. It's really a shame the Jamaicans have burst on the scene with ridiculous times and performance gains heavily indicative of hardcore doping. There's really no way to compete unless you're using too. Perhaps Gay has realized this and has decided to cross the line, thinking it doesn't matter much now anyway since he's past his prime and likely nearing the end of his career. I don't know. Given how blatant the doping is with Bolt and friends, I'm almost for it just to even the playing field. Regardless, it will be interesting to see what Gay does this year. |

You know, when you see something beautiful, you have to tell others how beautiful it is. It's like you distance guys gushing over who has the best/perfect stride, in many threads dedicated to that topic. As far as sprinting goes, there is nothing more beautiful than seeing Tyson Gay in full flight. Except, of course, seeing the female sprinters standing still. |

That's dumb. I hope to God you are not a Lance Armstrong basher and making these statements at that same time, because, if so, you'd have taken contradiction to a new level. Bolt is most talented sprinter ever based on his jr times. There is as much reason to doubt Gay as to doubt Bolt. |

wrong, except carl lewis. sprintgeezer trusts him when he sez he's clean cause their birdays lie in the same or have the same color eyes or soemthing, can't remember spritngeezers reason for trusting him. oh i know it was cause springgeezer understands carl's mindset. i'm convinced! |

It's much easier to assume that everyone who is fast is on drugs rather than looking at arbitrary evidence in one that may not be seen or known about another and calling one person clean and the other dirty. |

completely agree. we had a good laugh at that threat about hypotheticsl times of top all time srpinters where sprintgeezer would claim a few random sprinters ran their 9.7 or 9.8 clean then overestimated their performance by a mile if on todays druqs. |

Why don't you guys try to stay on topic, instead of heading off into the wilderness of unsupported trash? At least post links if you are going to try to make a point. You all know who I believe to be clean, and it includes plenty of guys who have gone under 10. I have also posted that Gay's 9.69 (+2.0) might, just might, be the fastest clean unadjusted time ever, and that Bolt's 9.76 might just be the fastest clean adjusted (9.75) time ever. And Gay's form is still beautiful. |

Sprintgeezer you have no idea who is using and who isn't. You have no factual basis for any of that crap. Tyson is 3-0 and I while he is still an impressive man, I doubt he has a PR left in him. |
