So she left her high school team/team-mates to get a pro coach to break records she would have broken anyway...What good is that?

Huh? How could she have gotten into a race with Dibaba, let alone the training expertise she gets from Salazar, if she was still running for Bronxville?
right, because competitive runners are really just going for the lowest common denominator.
SHOULD HAVE COULD HAVE
Mary Cain never ran a 2 mile in h.s.
However she did run a h.s. 1 mile last February in the Millrose Games
Results
New Balance High School Girls' Mile
Finals
1 Nadel, Samantha North Shore 4:46.19M
2 Moye, Megan Cosby 4:49.95
3 Nerud, Brianna North Shore 4:50.12
4 Cain, Mary Bronxville 4:52.19
I won my state meet with a 9:31. Second place, with me with 400 to go, ran a 9:38. This was during the mid-90s "dark ages" of high school track, so the idea of a 16 year old girl running with us is staggering.
She's incredible, and I hope she continued to improve.

That's quite an improvement in 1year. I mean, she averaged faster than that per mile tonight. Bring out the Salazar/PED haters.

What state and division was that? Pretty slow to win a state meet, even in the mid 90s
I hope Alberto shuts her down soon and then builds for a nice outdoor season. Three quality races so far this seaon, how many more??? I how she stays healthy, she is such a talent.

Imagine what she can do once she runs with the confidence and guts of a seasons pro and doesn't save so much for the last 200!
That just seems wrong. More like 9:01-9:02. Nice run though. She could be really good. Right behind Reid.
remember that 2 mile=/ 3200. An even paced 9:38y would probably come through the 3k in 8:58.

Good thing she went 4:31 equiv last year f'tard.
We all know Baxter takes her down in Track
lol. Baxter and track shouldn't even be used in the same sentence. Her sport is XC, Mary Cain would dominate her on the track anywhere from 100M to 5000M. Baxter maybe just MAYBE would beat her in a 10000.
Some very reliable sources tell me she has a goal of 9:15 for the 2mile by the end of her senior year.
Here is the video I took of the race: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIHBRUIkJRw
thank you for providing that................
Here's the Vid...
Womens two mile -not run a lot.
USA list--

deena kastor- 9;35.9
INSERT HERE?
goucher 9:41.3
nnenna lynch 9:42.99

If she runs 9:15 for the 2 next year I\'ll shit myself.
Thanks for the video.
Did you not learn how to spell 'Goodbye' at school?
