Shalane pulling away strongly with a k to go. Top 6 looking like a sure thing.
Shalane pulling away strongly with a k to go. Top 6 looking like a sure thing.
So the top 6 are set at 6k
It's Shalane pulling away, then Kim Conley, (2seocnds back), then Deena30 + seconds back.
Then its Delilah, Neely and Infeld.
Of those 6, how many will go to Worlds?
LA marathon is in 43 days so I"m assuming Deena is out.
Spekaing of the LA marathon homepage -
- It says "Deena chooses LA Marathon." as if they don't get paid.
The order was Emily 4, Neely 5th, Delilah 6th
Thank you, Robert.
So Shalane's not going to Worlds
It's great that Kastor was playing up to the crowd there at the end with her raised arms and hand waves, but was anyone else hoping Infeld would catch her at the tape? The US squad is looking strong!
Great job by Infeld. Seems like she's progressing nicely under Schumacher.

This is the best they can do to cover the NATIONAL XC championship? A camera perched in one location high above the field?
Un-freakin-believable.
Come on commentators. Close to 2k and we have no idea who's in the front of the pack. Really awful streaming from Runnerspace, very disappointing.
6:03 at 2k, bauhs and ritz lead, huge pack, no gaps.
Very ironic that Runnerspace is spending more time talking up their coverage than talking about the race given the terrible quality of this.
Yes, I was/am disappointed with the coverage. I would have recommended getting someone actually down by the course. He could have texted them updates and whatnot. The only drama in the women's race was seeing who got the last few spots and those fellows in the tower could not really see enough to commentate about this.
Bauhs with about a 5 meter gap.
With Max King running for Montrail, what kind of XC spikes would he run in?
Camera on the gator is all they need.
Announcer stated that so-and-so runner found his niche on the roads. He pronounced it "nitch". He also said "took to the roads like a fish IN water". Does he mean like a fish TO water, or like a fish in water takes to the roads? He sounds like he's 12 years old.
Ritz now leads. Still a big pack but starting to string out.
No kidding. It's not that hard.
Now the stream is hiccuping every thirty seconds. I'm about ready to be done with this. Planned my day around watching this race and can't see or hear anything about it.
Does anyone know if Aaron Braun is racing today? I know he's listed in the entries, but haven't been able to pick him out in the pack.
What a crappy looking windy day out there in STL.
