First race of the year too!
First race of the year too!
If she and Mary Cain were to meet up at a distance of 1500 to 3000 meters, who would you take? Seems like they are pretty close right now.
We love you Jordan. Can't wait to see you in L.A. again.
I'm just elated that they're both getting faster. Hasay has hit some temporary plateaux, but she's moving in the right direction. When she goes pro (maybe under Salazar?) and can be nurtured more carefully, train more fully, her times will drop significantly. Eventully she'll be straight 5k / 10k, but will have significantly faster times in the 1500. That's my call.
Wetmore is a genius with women run runs. JH can train with World Champion JBS.
Did anyone consider that she did not win that race? How about Brie Felnagle?
Did I miss something? Has Hasay committed to Wetmore as her future coach?
Very solid PR for her. Looked smooth and beat a lot of good girls. Awesome to see her progressing.
However, she was dropped like a fly on the bell lap(as usual). That has to change. She was right with Felnagle, and D Agostino with 300 to go but had no turnover. Don't get me wrong D Agostino is great, but it's a little perturbing that Jordan still can't outkick her. Whoever she goes with after college, developing that finishing speed needs to be the #1 priority. The more I watch her in track the more clear it is that she should be a 10k/marathoner.
Nevertheless, she is making great progress and should be excited about the future. I have a feeling she has a big 5k PR coming in the near future.
Baby Brie from Bellarmine in Tacoma?

The data base server at UW is having intermitent hardware failures. If they hook up the JTAG USB port I can crank up Eclipse and take a look at it from here at Soledad State Prison and suggest a solution.
Is there a free internet video of this race?

--Wrong, she as dropped with 150 to go. Same result, but you were off by 150m in your "expertise."
And "dropped like a fly"? Makes no freaking sense.
"Left behind like she was standing still," that about describes it accurately.
Nice time for her. What cracked me up, was that she came back later to run in a heat of the 4x400m. She's such a kid who loves the sport.
No idea where she will land as a pro. Hope it is the perfect situation for her. And, hope she cuts the hair and goes back to the shorter/braid look. Nobody looks good sporting their high school style forever! Evolve!
PRs for all of the top four ladies. Wish we could see the video for this one. Abbey looks like she's in incredible shape.
Duck, you have to be the stupidest person alive. You make people WANT to hate on Oregon. Do the College a favor and stop posting, you will be a true duck supporter that way.
^^ Agreed
It's going to be a great 3k battle again between D'Agostino, Saina and Hasay if they all run the race at the NCAAs. There's lots of talent in the womens' distance races.
Courtesy Notice to Prospective Elite candidates:
I'm not accusing anyone by saying this but if Jordan Hasay moves to L.A. to train she will be subjected to one or two unannouced PED tests per week. Hope this helps.
Watched the race tonight at the Dempsey. D'Agostino has the raw speed which Jordan has yet to master. Very true and natural at this young age for these youngins to lack the kick. However, Jordan's form is so exact, relaxed, and perfect versus D'agostino's form, you somehow have to wonder how D'Agostino can continue to run at this high level with such an ackward form without getting injured. It looked painful watching her run, while Jordan looked like she was jogging. But, in the end, the winner....D'Agostino prevails.
But for how long? My point is, I don't think Abbey can continue to run on the national level with the lack of form and unity style she is currently running with. Particularly as she enters some serious races in her upcoming years. It looked a little painful watching her run, while it looked like a practice day at the office for Jordan.
Just one person's opinion. Both are great runners indeed.
