Thompson's got 1:47 speed, watch out for them at the end of the season. They have Merber waiting in the wings too if Stilin or McGregor get injured.
Wow who f*cking cares? They will be lucky to score at nationals.

University of Texas holds the world record, Dennis
Is there any video of this race up yet?
Arkansas was actually a few meters ahead of Texas going into the mile, but as you can see the anchor from UT went Sub 3:59, and Arkansas' Rono was in the 412ish range. UT put nearly half a lap gap on Arkansas in the anchor leg.

Yes, outdoors (in the rain), but this was a lot faster (and more exciting):

Maybe its cause I'm from the west coast. But merber does not impress me. Even old rupp broke 1:50 in the 800m

Stilin ran 3:58.6 earlier in the meet too, breaking Leo Manzano's school record in the mile.
I've been following Kyle since he was in HS relaying 1:58 or so. He has done a couple of special things with winner Millrose HS Mile & Collegiate 1500 record holder standng out.
Dhdhjfxc you might have a point not sure impressed fits my view of Merber but would be glad to have him on my team if I were coaching. I thought he had something to set him apart from most of the young men he competed against. I met him and was impressed by his maturity and poise. We continue to be in casual contact now and who he is comes thru in those communications more that what he did. He handled his long down time with the foot injury well. The injury did not handle him. He competed at a high level while going to an Ivy which again goes to who he is as a person. When you shake it out I'm like you not impressed with how far he has come but am intrigued with how far he can go.
Plus following him has brought me back to paying more attention to my local area HS&College running... and for that he earns a hearty thank you.
