We've always said an 800 steeple would be the most ridiculous/dangerous/excieting race ever. A mile can't be too far off. http://www.runnersworld.com/elite-runners/thoughts-indoor-steeplechaser Anyone know if they are having a men's mile steeple. What are the pro events? We can't find a website. |

The Armory has their own YouTube channel, and every major meet so far these last two indoor seasons have shown live streaming of their meets. http://www.youtube.com/user/armorytrack/videos As for how the race is to be run, it is just two barriers set up on the straightaways. Cool, another event for those who can't hack it with the big boys. Winning a steeple race is like winning the special olympics, doesn't mean anything. |

They've already held the race at two separate meets for the high school level, and from what I've seen, it has gone well both times. Good to see the event spreading to new territories. |

It won't be long until we have the world's first all-indoor cross country race inside one of these giant domed stadiums. Or maybe in one of those giant mall complexes. |

2000m steeple seems to have been run quite a bit, both indoor and outdoor and while not a 'standard' event, it seems to be well enough recognized that there are unofficial records/best times. http://www.alltime-athletics.com/m2000hok.htm http://www.alltime-athletics.com/w2000hok.htm So why are they are doing 2 laps less, are they just lazy? |
