One word: brutal. I can't imagine going over 200mpw.

proof?
Gotta be short term. You can't manage that kind of mileage for long without consequences.
If so, he's addicted.
any links for proof?
if so, the guy is insane
I hope the guy implodes. He didn't learn squat when everyone ran away from him in the 10,000m Final.
This is a guy that worships his training log and not his results.

Are you being serious?

10 people beat Cam Levins. Of these 10 people, only 3 have PBs slower than Levins(27:27). Levins also beat Moses Masai(26:49), Ritz(27:22), and Ben St Lawrence(27:24).
And remember, this was all after running three NCAA seasons. He didn't have the luxury of the Olympic final being his sole focus like most of these guys.
For some extra perspective, Galen Rupp finished 13th in 2008.

What a retarded comment. Levins could do a 10k shake-out run and still kick your a$$ but he would never say anything because he has so much CLASS.
Cam is awesome. I haven't seen or heard a single thing out of this guy that I don't like.
Read the title of the thread. It says "Cam Says He May Experiment...". Who is Cam? We don't know. It could be any Cam.

Yeah, because the progression of his results has gone nowhere.
Moron.

"redux is a big stupid dumb head. He really grinds my gears, ya know?" - C. Levins
It's true. I was there when he said it.
Roughly three 12-mile workouts per day, every day. No one planning to compete as a distance runner would think this a potentially beneficial plan.

😜QQQUUUAAANNNKKKAAA!!!
If you actually read the article, Cam said he was bumping up to 250 miles per month. Canadians count monthly mileage, not weekly, so this whole "Cam runs big mileage" is totally blown out of proportion. 250 miles a month is over 8 miles a day, which still might be too much for a 10k runner. I think years of strong running and consistent 150-190 mile months will give him the strength he needs to push it up to the 9 mile/day range, though.

"More is Better" does have an upper limit. He may soon reach it. Josh McDougal was proud of running 115 miles the week he won NCAA XC, and was soon never heard from again.
If 250mpw were so great, a lot more people would do it. They don't, and for a very good reason.
There's no way this is true, and I feel like a tool replying to an obvious troll. I did want to ask; would there be any benefits to running that type of huge mileage week? I'd think there would at least be something of a psychological shift when he returned to his normal mileage. Of course, that would probably be balanced out by the overruse injuries he'd sustain a few weeks later.
Who the F cares? Great he wins an award for the highest mileage. How about doing something productive with your life. God this guy is pathetic.
yeah, I can beat a bunch of canadians.
levins will never win an olympic or world medal. He is too concerned with being the highest mileage runner. This guy sounds like Dean K in the making.
Yes, mileage does have an upper limit. The thing to do if you're really serious about your running is to find out what that limit is and stop there. But no one knows where that limit is for any given runner until they hit it.
In Levins' case, he's raced faster every time he's run more so it's not illogical to continue running more until he's convinced that won't bring about more improvements.
It's true that not very many people run 250 mile weeks. That's also true for 150 mile weeks. That's not a reason not to do such weeks.
That said, I'm not sure how seriously I take the original post.
