Numbersguy - I hear you on the humbling stuff. I guess it helps just a little to know that Mo Farah can barely break 13 on a 100m dash :)
alftupper - Looking forward to your first 10k in 21 years? That's awesome.
oh please - I would have thought having a loop like that would get really, really boring but I found a nice 3-mile out-n-back at my in-laws that I have been running daily when we visit. It helps me relax and just focus on putting the miles in rather than sight-seeing. Do you have a goal race for your marathon?
NJ truth - Sorry to hear about your flirting with the running gutter. Yuck. I hope you are healthy again very soon.
tiger_runner - Sorry to hear about your knee and IT issues. Seems like hamstring tightness and knee issues go hand in hand :-\
NP1112 and Another - thanks for the responses about training and HRs.
des - 5000 is a lot of miles. I'm just floored. How was the 5K?
has been who never was Happy new year! Hope you are well again.
2016 MR - Good luck this weekend!
Darwinian - Yuck! I hope you are feeling better now. I'm with you on the ambitious goals. I'm aiming for an HM PR but I only ran a few seconds per mile in a 5K the other day.
marmite - Sounds like you deserved a week of rest.
GNR1 - what half are you doing in March?
grizz - sounds like everybody had a wonky holiday week. Anyway, thanks for the comment about my journey. I have a baby coming in 11 days (or less) and possibly an interstate move so things could get a little sidetracked but I will be sure to post the progression. I still need to do that baseline 2400 test, which I'll do when I can get a regular 50 mpw in.difficulties.
dcrunner0910 - I hope your calf is healed!
Young Guy - that's are fast times. Good luck on it all!
pablo - I like your goals. Like VF, I'll take #1 and #5 as well.
SteveInAlaska - Thanks for the comment on the pace. I thought for sure I still had 400 speed because I've got good "softball speed" but now I know everyone else is just very slow :-)
