I cringe when I read the allegations of mental illness simply because she was honest and audaciousness enough to acknowledge her sexual and emotional needs and pursue an uncommon avenue to fulfill them. Yes, it does seem curious that her husband knew about this, but in reality, I think we all know that when it comes to relationships and marriages, there is no normal. I don't know enough to judge her, but even if I did it would be none of my business. I certainly don't think there's any purpose or benefit to criminalizing any of the mutually beneficial arrangements she made. I feel bad that she's going to be negatively impacted by the lust for scandal and moral self-righteousness of the masses.

A little depression is OK wrote:

She mentions being prescribed Zoloft after suffering post-partum depression. I went on Zoloft several years ago after what I now realize was a lifetime of depression. It worked and I also felt "better than Ive ever felt. Unfortunately it worked too well. After years of being pathologically inhibited and shy because of my depression I suddenly became this different person, a very extroverted, exhibitionist, and risk-taking person with incredibly poor judgment. Whatever popped into my head at the time seemed like a great idea and I went with it. Specifically, I went to the clinic with STDs, to bankruptcy court, to jail. Eventually I went off Zoloft, after lots of damage had been done, and now deal with my depression without medication.

She's not using this as an excuse but if her experience with anti-depressants was anything like mine then maybe it's a reasonable explanation for what seems like completely out-of-character behavior. In any event I'm not going to judge her.

This is a classic reaction when a SSRI is prescribed to somebody with bi-polar disorder. It induces mania.

The black front page? Seriously? What are you celebrating? A home-wrecker, a failed marriage, or a seven year old girl whose mom is now exposed as a prostitute?

Nothing that any of us say here has any consequences.
And that explains why most posts read as they do.

Okay, there are a few posts that have consequences, either for known people posting under their real names, or stuff like the Kip Litton thread, but those are the rare exceptions. I mean, what could I write here that would actually impact my real life or someone else's ...? Almost nothing.

I wasn't speaking of the consequences of posting something on a message board. I was speaking of the consequences of holding the positions in said message board posts and acting on them accordingly. The posting does have the consequence of making someone feel like a certain position is legitimate if a lot of people seem to agree. You could have someone start a line of thinking as a cynical joke and other people jump on who think it is a legitimate point of view. The point is that having this point of view is eventually damaging somewhere down the line.

I love how she says she will handle this honestly and without excuses, taking responsibility for everything, then immediately blames her status as a professional athlete (compares herself to Tiger Woods!) and tells the reporter "you aren't an athlete, you couldn't understand" (paraphrasing).

This is very distressing. Reading everyone's posts, I see that there are people who are distressed by this news, and there are people who are giving each other 'nice bro!' high fives, and there are even a few people who think that somehow she was just 'meeting her needs'. There is simply no dignity in prostitution, and everyone wants and deserves dignity. Sex is a wonderful experience that is dragged through the mud by people who separate it from intimacy and love and caring. In addition, having many sexual partners spreads disease and makes it harder for one to ever have a meaningful sexual relationship. I am begging you, really think about what you are saying and its consequences. Sex is never 'just sex'.

I've thought about it a lot.

1) Having a moral authority dictate which voluntary behaviors we can engage in, to me, is a much greater attack on dignity than letting SFH live her life as she pleases.
2) What other people do should have no impact on your sexual experiences.
3) I strongly suspect SFH contracted no sexual diseases during her stint as an escort. Irregardless, there are many known and effective ways of not exposing oneself to STDs.
4) People have different desires and needs. They respond to having multiple sexual partners in different ways.
5) Sex is always just sex. The experience varies in meaning and importance. Live and let live.

All you folks getting your jollies at SFH's expense - you are pretty much the lowest form of scum on the planet.

Stop the bullshit. The piece of shit that just murdered 20 1st graders is the lowest form of scum on the planet. This isn't even remotely close.

OK. Second lowest form of scum.

She's also tweeted multiple times in the last hour or so.

A large number of past tweets saying "had a great time in Houston/Nashville etc. and met some great people" take on a whole new meaning now!

SFH made these decisions on her own and had plenty of people/resources available to get treatment for whatever may ail her. I do not feel bad for mocking her poor decisions, and I wouldn't blame someone for mocking mine.

Serious question: Why do you publicly advertise how pathetic you are?

Spare us the sanctimony.

Any normal guy on this sight is wondering "what if" right now.

Save your neo-Victorian sensibilities for the other phony's in your life.

Nope. Pretty sure you do not speak for all normal guys. I certainly understand that some may find her physically attractive. I do not but this is just a question of individual taste. I also understand that some may be attracted to the notion of having sex with a "celebrity". Again, this is not something that I share but once again it is a simple matter of individual taste.

But the notion of "maxing out a credit card" in order to have sex with some celebrity that you find attractive is just plain pathetic. Sorry, but that is just the way it is. And there is nothing "sanctimonious" or "neo-Victorian" about any of this.

Finally you do not find it just a bit ironic that someone who is all ga ga about some celebrity runner who they probably do not know at all is talking about phony's (sic)? It strikes me that what little you have revealed here indicates an entire life that may well be phony.

To everyone saying that her life is over, her kids are going to be ruined, etc., consider this: if you randomly stop 10 people on the street, most likely all 10 will have no idea who SFH is. This will be even more true for the 20 and under crowd. From a public standpoint, her family will be fine. They might have their own private issues, but hey who doesn't. Plus, it sounds like between her real estate gig, her husband's job, and her escort money the F-H family is doing okay financially.
