SFH story is #1 cover story right now on Foxsports.com
For anybody who is interested in how people like SFH and various mass shooters are characterized, with respect to the struggle between the legal and medical/psychiatric discourses, I highly recommend the book
"I, Pierre Riviere, having slaughtered my mother, my sister, and my brother: A Case of Parricide in the 19th Century"
by Foucault.
In particular, it illuminates the struggle between characterizing a behavioral deviant as "ill", or as "criminal".
It might be an interesting read for any of you interested in the "mental illness" dimension of this story.
No value judgment here, just a public notice, if you have time to read a short book.
Here is an article and video clip by everyone's favorite Phil Hersh

Reading the article from the female author.
http://msn.foxsports.com/olympics/story/suzy-favor-hamilton-escort-scandal-not-funny-just-dreary-comment-on-society-122012Here's a great excerpt:
Being a whore, um escort, gave her more fame than being an Olympian ever did.
My first thought when my bosses asked me to weigh in was this is another example of athletes struggling with handling adversity because being an athlete meant they rarely had to do so. This is BS, though. The reality is I am so sick of Suzie Favor Hamilton and her many incarnations — Bobby Petrino, Tiger Woods, Kristen Stewart. Bill Clinton, David Petraeus, Kobe and on and on. All of y'all bore me with your selfishness. It is not newsworthy to be a Dear Abby cliche — a selfish cheater willingly putting your immediate gratification ahead of your kids and families.
She then goes on to talk about how SFH didn't deny like so many athletes. I think tha'ts true. I mean she says her husband knew about it - unlike those other men.
MSOG = Multiple Shots On Goal. I never heard the term used in this context before. You have to give her props for that.
I find most of this absolutely hilarious. Just funny.
Woman wanted to make some extra cash and have fun. Probably enjoyed being wanted by random dudes.
The real loser in this scenario is the daughter. You got a kid, woman. Get a hold of yourself!
NYC tabloid headlines today (front page, no less)
“Ready, Set, Ho”
And subhead
“Trickstar”
Always clever! those boys and girls.
Our little Suzy Favor, all growed up.
I see know problem with this! How many other female athletes could charge $600 bucks

What a worthless column. This Engel person is obviously not familiar with Suzy in the least. And who is she to say that Suzy didn't need the money? And by the way, wenchbag, it's "Suzy," not "Suzie."

You certainly have a lot of certitude in diagnosing somebody you have never met. That tells me you are not a clinician.
I was responding to the guy who mentioned histrionics, her public actions, and a word of note to current coaches, etc., dealing with drama-queen types. Take it for what it is, or ignore it.

You lead a pretty sheltered life. Good for you.
MSOG is standard terminology in the trade. So, no, no props are called for.

It's sad. I think it's clear she has some mental health issues.
If all circumstances were the same but it was a male in his 40's would you say it was due to mental health issues?
The real problem is how the feminists and religious fanatics have made women feel guilty about their sexuality. In the ancient Greece prostitutes were sacred and held in high regard. Ditto for the geishas in Japan. There is absolutely nothing wrong in runner girls turning into escorts when their careers is over.
Several posters call SFH a "cheater." If she told her husband about it, she was not "cheating."
Yes, he may not have liked it (we're told), and may have wanted her to stop (we're told), but that still doesn't make it "cheating."
The acid test, in my eyes, is "did he leave?" No. We know that he stayed, and by staying he implicitly agreed to it.
Long-term marriages where one spouse has a much stronger sex drive than the other, as well as "open marriages," are much more common in the real world than most 20-somethings realize.
Sad is just a state of mind. Hmmm? SFH graduated from Wisconsin. I thought that made her a Badger -- not a Cougar?

no. except that he did leave. He says they have been separated for a year.
I think the real loser in all of this is Competitor Group. They could have created lots of drama, manufactured some really competitive races, and reaped a ton of money if they offered Suzy's services in return for setting course records. Plus, they could have made a killing on t-shirts that said "Enter the race. Enter Suzy." Too soon?
Book Deal. Movie Deal. Here I come.
