Why would she be shamed? If anything, you gain esteem in the sports world for being part of something sex-scandalous. If caylee anthony can get a playboy spread for being a nobody who just happened to be moderately attractive, I can only see bigger opportunities for fame and fortune for Suzy.
And besides, you only live once, and most of us live in a box of Puritanical values adopted from England. There is a big world of open-mindedness out there.
I used to be religious but renounced it once I got more exposure in colege to the wide breadth of humanity.
And im sure her daughter will be fine. She has a good life and is more fortunate than many kids in this country to have the resources that she has.
Ok so Suzy looks good...
But how many of you think that sex with her would be all that great? Women like this are DEAD F%Cks. No intimacy, scandalous liars, etc.
She has a vagina and boobs. BIG DEAL.
I am sure Suzy has kept track of all her 'earnings' for the year and paid her estimated taxes each quarter.
Uncle Sam wants his piece of Suzy, too.
Maybe Suzy's in Obama's new tax bracket.
Well, we don't know about the "dead f*ck" part, she might be dynamite in the sack.
But still, she is 44 years old, which is usually considered past the sell-by date.
Bguy, I respectfully disagree with you on all of your points. There is nothing to be gained by a life of sin, much less the public humiliation of being labeled a prostitute.
I don't have time to get into a big debate right now on how awesome walking with Jesus is. Just know this - whether or not you think about Him, He's ALWAYS thinking of you! He loves you and thinks you're amazing! And NOTHING you say about Him can change that!
All I'm saying is don't tip-toe around this saying it's the depression, or it was just an honest mistake that anyone can make.
This website is blasting Lance now for profiting for years off the perception of being a clean riding inspiration to the world. Suzy travels the country profiting thanks to her success, but also due to her squeaky-clean, Kara Goucher-like, puppy dog look, girl-you-want-to-root-for image...then later that night goes and sells her body to some random guy while her husband is at home asking her to stop, and we're supposed to feel bad for her?
I'm not saying we have to go to her house with burning pitch forks - frankly I hope she gets her life straight - but I'm also not going to apologize for her deliberate and repeated lifestyle choice.
txRunnergirl,
You're right about her daughter and the shame she will live with. On the other hand, she joins the legion and vast spectrum of MILLIONS of American parents who cheat, abuse, steal and abandon their kids, doing irreparable harm to the children. What she did is no different, AND in some ways, actually better than a loved parent taking on emotional attachments to someone other than Mom or Dad. At least it was all business, GFE type stuff aside. It was all an act with her clients.
New course offering at UW next semester....Advanced Escorting!

It's as simple as that! If you haven't already accepted Jesus into your accepted his free gift of salvation, don't wait another day!
You sound like the type that gets arrested after the FBI looks at your hard drive.
Stay away from children creep

Dude get out of here will that bull. We're talking about hookers, go save a kitten in a tree or something.
ricky d, you obviously didn't see the recent photos or recent videos on various running websites. She is still SMOKING.
Wonder if she kept a "black book"? Bet there are some married
men out there that are nervous about her right?!?
Notice that 1) she lies about her age ("36-40"); and 2) in one of the articles she admits that the "fall" in the olympics was intentional (it always looked faked to me, but i never heard that she admitted it). mind you, i don't have a problem with her selling her sexual services to strangers if that's what she wants to do. but i must admit i feel less distressed about this being exposed than i would if it were a former star who had seemed less whiney and self-absorbed.

I would encourage all of you to think twice before you hurl your best joke or insult at her. Think of the shame and devastation she and her family are facing right now. Her secrets are very public now. But what secrets are you harboring? How would you feel if they became headline news?
It seems as if many of us are all too eager to pick up a nice, smooth stone and fire away at her. But remember what Jesus did when an adulteress was brought before Him and the Pharisees wanted to stone her, according to the Law of Moses (John 8:1-11)? He commanded anyone without sin to throw the first stone. Of course, they all dropped their stones. Jesus then said to her, "Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin."
Now, if you had only stopped here...
As was said, she cannot be the only world-class athlete doing this. I think we are losing a bit of perspective because our All American girl was exposed. There are many more I am quite sure. And many All American girls we wouldn't suspect.

The best thing we can do is pray for Suzy and her family. That she might turn to Jesus and accept His forgiveness that cleanses ALL of our sins and shame.
Indeed, Suzy can find salvation through repenting and embracing the Lord Jesus Christ, we should all pray for that.
But, remember that the Law of Moses required BOTH the man and the woman to be tried and if found guilty executed together. Thus, bringing the alleged adultress before Jesus was a trap, condemn her to unlawful lynch mob execution or defend her.
John 8:5-6: "Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?" This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him
So, what the Lord probably wrote on the ground was not sins of various members of the crowd, but rather the relevant Bible passages, and everyone when they were reminded of the exact wording realized they themselves were caught in a sinful situation.
And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbor's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. (Leviticus 20:10)
If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel. (Deuteronomy 22:22)

I would encourage the rest of you the same way. You don't need to carry the baggage of your guilt and shame. There is absolutely NOTHING you could have done in your life that the blood of Christ will not wash away. Romans 10:9 tells us "That if you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
It's as simple as that! If you haven't already accepted Jesus into your heart and accepted his free gift of salvation, don't wait another day!
...but then comes the crazy talk.

Good one. I am impressed with your logic skills once more.
Can we please keep the crazy religious talk out of this thread?
The real victim is her daughter, who will be forever reminded of her mother's actions because of the power of the internet.
