I would encourage all of you to think twice before you hurl your best joke or insult at her. Think of the shame and devastation she and her family are facing right now. Her secrets are very public now. But what secrets are you harboring? How would you feel if they became headline news?
It seems as if many of us are all too eager to pick up a nice, smooth stone and fire away at her. But remember what Jesus did when an adulteress was brought before Him and the Pharisees wanted to stone her, according to the Law of Moses (John 8:1-11)? He commanded anyone without sin to throw the first stone. Of course, they all dropped their stones. Jesus then said to her, "Then neither do I condemn you. Go now and leave your life of sin."
The best thing we can do is pray for Suzy and her family. That she might turn to Jesus and accept His forgiveness that cleanses ALL of our sins and shame.
I would encourage the rest of you the same way. You don't need to carry the baggage of your guilt and shame. There is absolutely NOTHING you could have done in your life that the blood of Christ will not wash away. Romans 10:9 tells us "That if you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
It's as simple as that! If you haven't already accepted Jesus into your heart and accepted his free gift of salvation, don't wait another day!
