True. Have heard same story from several of our recruits in the past couple years. Heard it from 3 different recruits that visited on different weekends.

Although I know a little about the scholarships and budget there, if you somehow knew he was the 6th ranked candidate 5 years ago, then you likely know more of the specifics than I. Regardless of that and how un/favorable you or I consider BSU's circumstances to be, the program was setting new school bests, and having some success at the cong, reg, and ncaa level, obviouslt highlighted by a 3rd place finish in the 10k.
Every coach I know started as a clipboard holder who then bragged about whatever they could conceivably attach their name to in order to climb out of the ranks of volunteer ast. to inherit someone else's program and recruits, so I don't see how your criticism of Wick with respect to that is any different from any other coach at some point in their career, including all the new coaches that this thread is about who will be inheriting athletes they didn't recruit.
He was doing a good job at Boise and lost his position through no fault of his own when a new regime was brought in that was headed by another distance guy. Wick is neither the first nor the last to have this happen to them, so implying he was 'screwed' in my name may be too strong a term if only because it's not unique to him, or track/cc, or even professions in athletics. I'm deviating from what this thread is supposed to be about, but I wanted to support someone who I felt was doing a decent job while at bsu.
maybe what was talked about on all of the last page...ole miss distance

Does anyone else dislike when you see a coach inflate their stats. In this particular link show the coach actually only produced two different athletes that became All American. Then they go on to list a number of accomplishments the team did in events he didn't even coach.
He brought water and timed the Tennessee team as a student assistant. He was responsible for plenty of all americans and 2 pan am medalists. He was also water technician for Jackie Coward's coach when she set the HS records. Don't disrespect a guy you know nothing about!
What a great profession. Sad circumstances, if true. This really speaks well for the future of our sport. Student-athletes first, right??
Is Tennessee that messed up that no one wants that sprint job or have they hired someone yet???
wku - assistant
UCONN posted on the 17th closed on the 22nd. Must have been a done deal. Anybody know who's in line?
UConn is no longer accepting applications, but they haven't made a decision yet. On campus interview will happen within the next week.
