ILL job will be announced very soon. The offer was made earlier in the week and the person took some time deciding. But I heard he is probably going to take it.

UNO will be Bartolina. He has waited long enough....
Ron Garner is the new Illinois coach. Was an assistant for the illini from 91-98 and has been an assistant for south Carolina the last couple of years.
Here is the link(I hope) http://www.fightingillini.com/
Maybe now all these Illinois crybabies can relax (or try to transfer if they are not satisfied with the hire!).
We will see.....Stay or Transfer!?
Who goes to South Carolina?
Is the entire staff from Iowa State going to Boise State?
Has anyone interviewed at Central Michigan?
Korn man,he needs to go back to first of the finish

What is going on with Illinois finding a new women's Head Coach?? This seems like its some "STALL" tactic towards the athletics. It's a Nationally ranked team!! It should not take this long or be this hard to find a replacement. Am I missing something cause last time I checked they have a really young team who wouldn't want to be apart of that!! The AD AND EVERYONE invovled in the hiring process should be ashamed its almost embarrassing !
50 recruits a year? Do that for 4 years and you have a team of 200 athletes. Not really manageable. They have a nice outdoor facility. Seems like it could be a good job if recruiting expectations are reasonable.

Assuming that this is about the Millikin job. It's the expectation of 50 kids. They never stay. They have less than 50 combined (hence the firing), but the CCIW is an arms race of people alone. Expectations are clearly not reasonable, and anyone looking at the job need only look at the recent history of coaches and their short tenure.
Mike Curcio to LSU

Every time there is a job opening, Curcio's name comes up.
Why would he leave an assistant coaching position for another assistant position?
... And he's an App Stare alum.
Dunn officially to OU. They've got a really good staff now.

what coaches are being talked to for the University of Oregon assistant job?
Don't know, but Oregon is looking for a Hurdles coach
Who's going to SC State?
Never mind, just saw Tim Langford. So who's taking the position at Charleston Southern? Small program, but regularly had athletes at the National Championships and USATF Championships.

Another thread had "sex scandal"; pretty common knowledge he is dating Detmer.
What thread was this? Was he fired at UK?

I think they have one spot left to fill and i hope like heck it would be an African American . In the year 2013 , in the sport of track&field its no way you can put together a whole damn staff and not have a perosn of color on your staff no wayyyyyyyyy . we shall see maybe they will
There are plenty of track & field programs that do not have African-Americans on their staffs that are very successful. Yes there are 100's of African-Americans who are outstanding coaches, but that doesn't mean they are a fit for every program and will mesh with the present staff. This has nothing to do about race.
