If you have worked for 6+ yrs without a promotion, you have nobody but yourself to blame. It's quite clear you are not a "natural" however, six years of networking/working to become more skilled and connected, should most definitely yield a better situation.
This industry is tough and does favor who you know, however I believe the cream rises to the top and if you are truly talented and master your craft, you'll move up.
Keep working
YOU brought up sacrafice. This was your route you wanted to argue. You didn't sacrafice much. Your opinion is that six yrs is sacraficing. how'd you come to that number?
Then you reversed and said it's about the quality of the coach and THAT'S why they didn't move.
LOL you can't make up your mind. Some people land a great job the 2nd yr after they start. So now according to you, you stunk, it took you six.
The fact is on one wants to hear you lecture people who want better salaries, better everything. That's the way the world works in any field.
Take your check and shut your hole. If you could have had a high paying job your first yr you would have taken it. If you were really about sacrafice, you would volunteer for 10 yrs before taking a cent. THAT'S SACRAFICE SUCKA.
Start sacraficing. Begin. Sacraficing is YOUR theme, not anyone else's. Start putting up. Starve. Go live in a phone booth. Wear rags and then show up to practice.
