Have to assume TBB was more focused on her own job prospects than hiring a new coach. Probably going to be some movement in the next few weeks now that she won't be headed to Texas. I don't think she's interested in that now that its a combined program nor would the interest be reciprocated anymore now with the combination.
Assuming TBB is staying at Illinois she wants a middle distance coach. The focus will move to the 800/1500. Cross country will not be abandoned but it sounds like Illinois won't be putting a lot of attention on the true cross country or distance kid anymore.
Didn't they just hire Zach Glavash for that position?
Toledo bringing in finalists this week and next.
Glavash is the new coach. Won a couple of big ten 800's running at Illinois and then transferred to Texas A&M. Has been coaching at eastern Michigan the last couple of years.
any word on iowa state?
IOWA STATE IS GOING TO BE COACHED BY A HIGH SCHOOL GUY!!!!!!!!!

Glavash won the 8 once, 6 once and 4x4 once at Illinois before transferring to Texas Tech not A&M. They are definitely going MD and not concern about XC or the longer distances. Glavash was the sprints/hurdles/jumps coach at Eastern the past two yrs.
WHO???!!!!
No, they are not.
Sounds like the Libscomb assistant job is open again. Peter Dalton from King took it for 6 weeks and just today accepted the position as head XC back at King.
wow. you dont see that every day.
Probably happens quite a bit in life outside of those lives talked about on a message board. Better to step away early than invest a bunch of years being where you're not 100% committed. I say, good for him and all parties involved.
Yeah my mistake it was Texas Tech. And I'm afraid you're right about cross. Too bad.

Dalton: "I realized moving was not the best option for me or my family"
That leaves another OPEN coaching position in the MAC.
ANY thoughts on candidates to take over Eastern Michigan Sprints?
Iowa State is advertising for a Head and assistant position, does this mean Ihmels took Travis Hartke to Boise with him?
Yes, word on the street is that Travis is headed to Idaho with Corey. Other assistant coaches are deciding whether to go based on salaries available. Boise does not have as large a budget as Iowa State for assistants. Also word here in the midwest is that the AD at ISU really is pursuing Martin Smith. Now that would be interesting to say the least.
If they hire MS they will not allow for assistant coaches to have their moving expenses paid.....
