She had relationship with an athlete on "her" team. She coached women only. Duh!
Most knew she was a lesbian but this was first case of an athlete coming forth saying she had crossed the line.

Some are saying Adam Bray, who is currently at Temple is the other Pitt Hire, any truth?
What is the story at Manhattan. It looks like they are reopening their search again?
Does Bray have any connections to the MAC?
I heard a bird say Caryl Smith Gilbert to Texas
If i were the AD I'd be looking at
Jeannette Bolden (UCLA)
Vince Anderson (TXAM)
Stanley Redwine (Kansas). would be a good hire
Dana Boone (TX State) was at Texas for a long time, already in the area.
Mike Ford (Baylor) could be time for him to take a head coaching job.
If Texas is keeping Bubba another season, and the Women's AD is leading the hiring, doubt she hires a male coach. She favors female coaches for her programs big time. I wonder if Caryl Smith GIlbert is a really a strong candidate. It actually makes total sense.
If they let Bubba go, I can see the AD for the men's program advise to combine both men's and women's team into one T&F team and hire a big name male coach listed above.
If women are going to be the one to fill this job the list is the following:
Caryl Smith-Gilbert- great sprint coach, coached DeeDee Trotter and other all Americans in the 100 meters. Has done a good job at UCF. But can she run a team to take over at Texas??? In her 6yrs there has she ever had a top 10 finish. I grade her as : A+
Tonja Buford BAiley- has done a good job at ILlinois, she is a brilliant young coach, but again in her time at Illinois has the team ever done anything. If she is expected to take over at my alma-mata I need to see progress. She's had the time. I grade her as: B
Amy deem-probably the best candidate considering she has built the univ of Miami from the ground. I'm not sure how as to why she doesn't have a national title yet. She has always recruited Texas, but is she ready to leave a combined program?? I grade her as: C+
Dana Boone: highly unlikely... She was coaching there during the time of this affair. She has NO chance. Too close to the situation. She has to prove herself as a head coach at Texas State. I grade her as: F
Shelia Burrell: she has been at San Diego state the past 3 yrs and she might be a better candidate than Amy. Took a bad team and beat my school by finishing 9 in the county at nationals last year. That's major people. She might be a star. I grade her as: A+
If it is a male coach that takes over:
Which can happen!
JJ Clark: Texas would turn into a distance school but he has had success and is a great women's coach. He has done a miserable job running a combined program! Maybe this way he could save face and go back to what's made him successful. I grade him as: A
Lawrence Johnson:Clemson women have been really good the past few years. He can really coach women sprinters his men's program suffers. So maybe he goes to what can be a huge strength for him; coaching women, Clemson can't compete with Texas financially so he might be an good option. I grade him as: B+
Vince Andrtson: Texas A@M women sprinters have carried them to three national titles outdoor on the women's side. He works well with women and is one of the best sprint coaches In college track. Would he leave A&M for my alma-mata? I would hope so. I grade him as: A
THE WORST thing they could do is combine the program and let Bubba be in charge. It's disppointing to watch him turn the men's team to a conference focused men's team with no national presence. Mario is a great coach and pretty much runs the show, but I expect more from these guys.
If they combine, pray they double what mike holloway is making at Florida and he comes and takes over at Texas!

NW runner you are posting complete lies.
As a current naia coach, I am telling you, your posts are blatantly false.
Grow up.
How do you know ? I saw him at USTFCCA and he mentioned he was looking so its possible he has an idea of where he is headed next year.
I like your logic on all these candidates if they become candidates. I would still add stanley Redwine (kansas) to the mix, he has done a great job at Kansas and he recruits Texas hard
This is starting early in 2013.
Texas Women / Clemson Men & Women
Those are two of the best jobs out there.
I highly doubt that person above is from Texas. Just because you write hook 'em doesn't mean anything. Just someone trying to stir the pot. It happens all the time on here.
Bray went to school at Akron. Both he and Jim Lear are def. at Pitt, already working with the team.
Any idea whats going to happen at USC?
What has happened at USC?
I believe that makes me 2 for 2 on early info.
I heard Rick Sloan at Wash State was going to retire sometime soon...
maybe they quit over princiles.
You can alway run...don't need a track team to run....
New opening as of 1/24/13 at Hastings College. Apart of the GPAC conference in the NAIA. Should be an attractive job to a lot of candidates.
Hastings College Head Coaching position. Failed to specify that in my last post.
