Here I find myself watching the shit, made-for-TV movie The Stand because I've watched nearly all of the good ones mentioned.

Dragonslayer
Amadeus
Dumb and Dumber

Gomorrah. It's an Italian movie. Really, really good. Here's the synopsis from the website: The intertwining tales of a delivery boy, a tailor, a businessman and two cocky teenagers form the fabric of this gritty and lyrical examination of the influential Neapolitan mob known as the Camorra.
Actually, I just checked, and Gomorrah isn't available on instant anymore. Kind of a shame. It's a good flick if you ever get a chance to see it.
they had all of arrested development a while ago - if you haven't seen that, you shuold.

It's a slice of life movie about a middle-aged guy who tries to use cool internet catch phrases on an anonymous messageboard, but comes off a little a%*holish. He feels bad about it, and sort of half-apologizes, but forgets the whole thing pretty quickly. not much of an ending, but it is sincere.
I think the best stuff on Netflix is the horror genre stuff. Probably because the B movie horror movies are still pretty good.
"Hellraiser", "Carrie", and a bunch of others are classics. I liked "Ink", kind of trippy. Also "Teeth." It's kind of a horror/family movie mix about a girl with teeth in her vag.
But the best stuff is definitely the TV series. I'm watching Trailer Park Boys right now and loving it.
Go watch Trollhunter. I know, it's in Swedish, but trust me. Watch it. I've heard Warrior and Valhalla Rising are also good.
They've also got some great shows on streaming now. Just checked and they removed Party Down (noooooooooo!)
Freaks and Geeks, Breaking Bad, Undeclared, The Larry Sanders Show (predecessor to Arrested Development), 30 Rock, Arrested Development, The Walking Dead, The League, IASIP, Archer.
I second all the series picks below. Haven't seen Trollhunter, but Valhalla Rising and Warrior are both good. Warrior better IMO. A quick list of memorable movies:Downfall - WWII Hitler's final daysMan on WirePrisoner of the MountainsYou can count on meThe FighterSexy BeastAdventurelandGoon - comedy about a good natured hockey thug

I enjoyed watching:
A League of Their Own
Eight Men Out
Good Will Hunting
Chariots of Fire
Radio
King's Speech
Braveheart
Movies I have not seen, but know others enjoy:
Monty Python's Meaning of Life
Thor
Captain America
Hope that helps.
Darn it. A couple people beat me to these two:
Chinatown (perhaps the best noir ever)
Days of Heaven (I love this movie beyond description)
Best in Show (if you like Christopher Guest)
Groundhog Day
Also, a lot of good TV shows:
Scrubs
Arrested Development
Cosmos
Breaking Bad
Battlestar Gallatica
BBC Office
Life on mars - tv series staring christof*ck from the sopranos. Good cop show, but you'll slit your wrists when you see how they ended it.
There are a bunch of independent films worth watching. Try cashback. Humorous British film.
If you like wahlberg, the fighter's worth a watch.
Have you worked your way through the trailer park boys?
Lots of music documentaries. Search for your favorite bands.
Dresden files is worth a look.
Trollhunter is fantastic. I liked The Eagle. Lots of terrible B movies on streaming.
-American Horror Story
-Tucker and Dale vs. Evil
-Let Me In

they may have had a few good films but I canceled the service (probably about a year late) because invariably when I thought of a good flick to watch, they did not have it, and the vast majority was a cultural wasteland.
