Neither. It was a revelation. How's that for lunacy. Luna See.

Innovation? Agriculture is a change made to the preexisting natural environment. An alteration.
But this whole grains and beans are bad thing needs amended. For starters talk to Adam at the Brooklyn Bro Lab:

Also, Randy Johnson and Nolan Ryan can throw rocks while I stay home and cook all the meat they're bringing back.
The real answer is that it's a gift from the gods.
In the Mediterranean it was given by the goddess Asherah.
In Egypt is was given by Isis.
In Greece Demeter gave them agriculture.
In Rome Ceres taught them to farm.
In China the ox-headed Shennong passed it along.
In Mexico, disguised as an animal Quetzalcoatl did it.
In Peru it was given by Viracocha, who was sent by the Sun Father.
Duh.
I can lean towards both, but agriculture contains many aspects that push it towards being an inventions. Many different things branch off from agriculture. Yes, it was a discovery, but at the same time, when humans actually started venturing into it and developing many aspects, objects and benefits from it it became an invention. Savvy?
If you're writing something on this you could most definitely make it seem like either. It's completely based on opinion!
agriculture: the science or practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for the growing of crops and the rearing of animals to provide food, wool, and other products.
Whatever it is, it was (modern) human that was created by agriculture.
Agriculture is the greatest lie.
It is one of the single biggest negatives impacts on our existence. We are designed as hunter gatherers.
Agriculture
Pluses: Civilization, tons of people if you like that.
Minuses: Famine, war, pestilence, disease, twitter, pollution, extinctions, vegans, environmental poison, obesity, chronic health problems, reduction in health and vigor of any individual but at least made up for (for a while) by larger numbers of cooperative labor, until everything falls apart.
In short, goes against our biology but an impressive party until the bottom falls out.
You discover things that already exist. Agriculture is an invention.
