Nice run Mr. Tapia, nice run !!!
Nice run Mr. Tapia, nice run !!!
Any word on what happened to Eggleston?
Eggleston was washed away...
Seriously.. 2 feet of standing water on the course. Trees crashing down. 35mph head wind...
Looks like the Mayans were right!
PR for Williams in dreadful conditions.

Sure, "dreadful conditions" but it's the course ALL downhill.
Oh PLEASE, can we have that annual debate again ;)
Thanks for the shoutout! I had a pretty good day.
Yes, I'm sure things were dry and calm on your side if the Internet. It was a horror show.
30mph head wind for 26.2.
Trees were actually falling on the course.
Did you see the number of DNFs?
Did you see the number of DNFs?
-----------------------------
My best guess is 2820 DNS/DNF based on 11/21 entry list of marathoners only (9294) less 6,474.
"Rain and wind at the start helped limit the number of starters to 6,474 marathoners and 857 relay teams."

scratch that. my mistake. that's just the DNS's.
6474 starters
6185 last listed finisher
289 DNF
That is a ton of DNFs. It must have been positively brutal out there. A guy from my hometown here in MI still nearly ran a personal best. To those of you who competed - how much would you estimate times were affected by the weather? Based on the lead guys, it looks like it must've been 5+ minutes.
So how good is Daniel Tapia? Do you really think he is a 2:11 guy? It is always a slippery slope when you try to judge how slow a course was on any given day.
This is abysmal trolling.

Wasn't Heather Utrata supposed to be racing?
Did she demand a $2000 appearance fee this time?
Who had Utrata as a DNF in the prediction contest?
Man, between the heat at Boston, New York's hurricane-related cancellation, and now CIM, what kind of weather curse does Nick Arciniaga have on him?
Houseworth also race in OT Marathon, however DNF'd.
I have ran with Daniel Tapia. This guy is surely a 2:11 guy. He's a beast. Seen him run long runs at Nisene Marks. BEAST!. Go Dani!

The rain and wind died down after about 2 hours. The guys I know like myself who went after it from the start ended up ~15-20 minutes off their likely fitness. The guys I know who went out pretty conservatively the first half ended up ~5 minutes off their likely fitness. This is for guys in 2:45 - 3:10 shape.
