My man Paul Ryan just took the lead! Could nab the world record if he picks it up a little. Worst case he'll get a sub-3:00. I'm riding Rafalca and pacing the guy, so we'll be sure to get him across the line in under 4 hours! Don't forget to vote for us tomorrow everyone!!! Or at least the 53% of you who are worth sh*t.
The Paul Ryan joke is getting old. Don't you understand a natural disaster took place. Be serious.
Ok I'm in a helicoptor tour of ny right now and I told the pilot I'd throw him a couple c notes to fly over Central Park and right now I'm looking down at some organized choas that looks like a race. I can see the lead car which is just some blue sedan and 2 groups of runners behind it maybe 200 yards apart. Can't tell how many are in each pack but its definitetly on. I'm going to see if I can get this guy to fly lower.
I'm sitting infront of my computer in Port Washington, NY
Does anyone else find it pretty weird that the site owners are blatantly trolling their own site? I'm in CP, there is no race taking place here.
Stop complaining people. We are doing this as a service to you. We may not have everything perfect but it's better than nothing.
25k split for lead women's group of 85:50 so they slowed down a tiny bit as if they had been at even paced from halway it would be 85:41. So they are like 2:24:51 pace???
Tiki Gelana
Bizunesh Deba
Kim Smith
and Abitova - not Arkhipova

Ha ha! Good one bartm!
+1
This is what I hate about LRC people. Stop complaining. This site is free. If you don't like it then leave.
30k was in 1:29:48 so the pace is getting just a little bit quicker. Abdi was falling off 1:29:57.
We're at 20 miles now.
Kipsang is now in the front. You can tell he's pushing at it's now 2 by 2 behind him instead of a pack.

Thanks.
What are your thoughts on this? Find it funny?

As for the American women, it looks like Culley and Alisha Williams are running together at around 2:35 pace hoping to negative split, PR and run 2:30 low and pick up the 20k for 6th through 10th. There is a mini pack back there with the girls in 7th to 12th as the prize money is all the same 6-10 so you might as well work together.
I'm surprised she didn't go to the ladies marathon in Japan in a few weeks.
A low 2;30s on that course for Culley/Williams would be good. Remember 2:32:40 made the team in Central Park in 2008:
http://www.usatf.org/events/2008/OlympicTrials-Marathon-Women/results_splits_detailed.asp2:28-7 for Bawcom and Hastings would be awesome!!! Go USA!!!
Wejo,
Some strong words of advice:
You are entitled to have all the fun you want but please do not include anyone (such as me) who did not agree to part of this.
The events surrounding this year's marathon are very serious and will have unfortunately negative implications on our sport. Everything that is online could be used by individuals that do not suppport our sport and therefore those of us involved with the administration and reporting should be careful.
They are 3 minutes up on Ryan Hall's 1:32:57. Central Park record definitely going down.
What place is Emil Zatopek in?

Wow, talk about a stick in the mud.
We've got a race now. It's down to Meb and Wilson Kipsang. They blitz the last 5k in 14:41.
1:43:30 at 35k.
It's then a gap to Moses Mosop who said he was only 85% coming in. We didn't get to post any of this stuff as we didn't do our previews once the race was cancelled but Meb did 3 runs over 26 miles before this thing.
He clearly is fit.

His coach is going to strike someone down if they do.
Ok the women's race has heated up.
Down to 4 at 30k. 30k was 1:42:30.
Which means they rolled that 5k in 16:40. That's 5:21 pace or 2:20 marathon pace which is really fast for everyone in theory but Gelana.
It's Gelana, Smith, Deba and then the Russian - which one was it? I think Abitova... SO the Japanese has been dropped.
Guy on the bike says though that Smith looks great.
Go Meb!!!!
Do it for USA!!!!
I'm at Central Park too..I see Hall, Meb and......WAIT! LOOK AT MILLS!!! LOOK AT MILLS!!!
