Mary Wittenberg should be fired immediately. How can she not have a live stream of this thing?

Sorry for no women's splits but that's the problem of having an elite men's and women's race at the same time. I wanted to watch the men.
They'd never have a men's world cup and women's world cup game at the same time but every marathon does that.
At least here, the women won't be finishing right when the men are making their break for glory as always seems to be the case.
We got a guy on a bike who is texting me women's stuff. He says after slow opening 5:32 mile they kept it at that pace for close to 5 miles.
5k - 17:15 - that's 2:25 pace.
No one wanted to blow it early like Mary Keitany last year.
6th mile was a bit faster like 5:25
10k was 34:20 which is 2:24:52 pace - so that's like 17:05?
Not sure of 15k or 20k but they just hit halfway.
72:25

An interesting wrinkle is there are no official water stops on the course so the athletes will not get their traditional bottles.
Plus all the Poland Spring water was taken to Staten Island for Hurricane relief.
There are a few people handing out cups of water old school style.
LRC is pathetic.

Idiot. There is a natural disaster in the area and you want a live stream?
Come on. Besides this isn't an official NYC marathon, it was something Bloomberg did to give back to the pros. Read the first post.
I don't believe this. It has to be a ruse and not very funny.
Things are starting to heat up in the men's race. Will try and get some more splits.
Abdi just clutched his side and threw up. Then like Bob Kempainenen at the 1996 Olympic Trials, he went to the lead and put in a surge, giving a thumbs up and a big grin.
Still 8-10 guys in the lead pack.
This shows so much bad taste. Sad.
how exactly are they getting around the finish line, which is blocked off?
Oh forget it - brojos are making some point. Go brojos.
You guys knock down a few last night?
Arkhipova never even made it to NYC at all.
How's NIck Arciniaga doing? Is he running? What about Sergio Reyes?
I am so tempted to leave work and ride my bike up to CP to get some pictures. Once in a lifetime chance!
Any updates?!
wejo, i'm getting ready to turn the channel...
clown shit... thanks for wasting my time.
As for the American women, it looks like Culley and Alisha Williams are running together at around 2:35 pace hoping to negative split, PR and run 2:30 low and pick up the 20k for 6th through 10th. There is a mini pack back there with the girls in 7th to 12th as the prize money is all the same 6-10 so you might as well work together.
Bawcom and Hastings are sort of in No Women's land between the top 5 and the chase pack. Probably 2 minutes back from the leaders at halfway with the chase pack 3 minutes behind them.
The top 5 is still
Tiki Gelana
Bizunesh Deba
Kim Smith
Arkhipova abd then a Japanes runner. I assume that must be Fukushi, Kayoki (2:24:38 pb). Wasn't she the top Japanese entrant?
I'm surprised she didn't go to the ladies marathon in Japan in a few weeks.
25k was 1:15:02 so 14:47 for that 5k. They are closer to 30k now. Sorry for not having that split till now. That portion of the course the feed is really bad. We have someone in the lead car taping this to upload later.

Ok my bad. Sorry man, it's hard without chip times, but I bet I'm doing better than the actual commentators that woudl be doing on tv that were in the truck.
Some of the elites never went to packet pick up and aren't wearing bibs - that way there sponsors get more publicity.
I guess if it's not Arkhipova then it must be the other Russian Inga Abitova (2:22:19 pb). Abitova didn't get the Olympic medal but she has a better PB.
How does Ryan Hall's hair look?
Dos Santos just dropped out near me. He was behind the lead pack.
Meb and Abdi are in the lead pack. So is Kipsang and Martin Lel and Mosop. All the main contenders. One or two guys I wasn't sure of. 7 guys in the pack still.
Then a minute or so to a second pack of Americans.
My man Paul Ryan just took the lead! Could nab the world record if he picks it up a little. Worst case he'll get a sub-3:00. I'm riding Rafalca and pacing the guy, so we'll be sure to get him across the line in under 4 hours! Don't forget to vote for us tomorrow everyone!!! Or at least the 53% of you who are worth sh*t.
