Jon Green (Ma) Div.1 champ is going to Georgetown. It wouldn't surprise to see Catarina go too.
Looks like Stanford is pulling a killer recruiting class. Sean McGorty (2nd FLN), Sam Wharton (1st NXN, 6th FL) and Sophie Chase (6th FLN) have all committed to run there. Impressive. Hopefully they stick with it and have great running careers there.
Meier twins both going to Duke.
One comment on these commits. It seems all have great grades. Distance kids are smarter. Just the way it is.
I remember a few years ago a state champ had to go to a JC but other than that I can't remember a 1500/3k guy/girl hurting for grades.

This is awesome. And despite her stress fracture, her coach Dan Gruber was a top hs runner himself and a really educated coach...as well as a great guy.
Now if her boyfriend goes to Oregon too...that would be really sweet.

Generally, it won't matter, Stanford can always pull a great recruiting class.
For some reason they can't get the majority of the kids to perform well in college.
Perhaps they recruit a lot of kids that then get overwhelmed by the academics. Or the kids are over trained before they get to college -- or they can't handle the work load of college training.
Recruiting isn't a science...lots can go wrong.

This is clearly a view based on merely the last couple of years of data and not an overall view of Stanford's performance.
Some of them are MORE INTERESTED IN ACADEMICS than they are their recreational (relative to career) running.
Who is her boyfriend????
FM's Katie Brislin to 'Nova
grace tinkey to air force academy
Will she ever run again or just academics/services?

Does she know the only training partner there just left (Jenny Simpson)?

Maybe, but I don't think this fits the profile of the typical Stanford runner - I've known a bunch over the years, and virtually all of them were committed big time to running. Stanford attracts smart athletes, not academic types who see running as a hobby. The ones I've known are very up front that they went there to run first, and study second.
Now a place like Harvard, I'd agree - quality high school runners who have made the choice to continue running but clearly place it second or third tier in their priorities.
Where is Montoya going?
Montoya is going to ASU but is taking courtesy vists to Ok State and Oregon.
